I am 35 and for the past year I have had severe irregular periods. In fact, I've been bleeding for 6 months straight and according to my Gyno, nothing is medically wrong with me .
So I was put on Tri Cyclen lo and see if that can regulate me. I am about 5 days into the pill and I am feeling horrible.
I have nausea, and stomach pains and just an overall feeling of being tired and weak. I don't think I feel a shortness of breath but I feel a tight feeling in my chest suddenly and just an overall feeling like I am catching a flu/cold.
The last time I was on birth control I was a teenager so this is all very new and odd to me. I checked the warnings and such and some say this is normal , others say its not.
I just wonder if anyone else on this pill suffered any of these symptoms?

Im really sorry to hear that. Try consulting your Gyno again. I took it for four months straight and never had an issue with it. I only stopped cuz there were shipping issues with my pharmacy.

I was on the same birth control and didn't have side effects like these. They sound awful.. if they are bothering you I'd see if you can try and switch to something else instead. That sounds really uncomfortable.

I also took ortho tri-cyclen LO, prescribed to me because I had your symptoms with higher dosage birth control. I have switched between several low dose birth control and have never had these symptoms with any. (My favorite is Levlen, maybe you need to try a different brand?) Some bc pills I have taken made me desperately ill if I didn't eat a meal with the pill. Do you eat a meal with your pill?
