Some questions that I need answers to pleasssse

I am way new to birth control and have a few very important questions.

For one i'm a virgin but plan to be sexually active very soon seeing as I am in a relationship at the moment. My boyfriend and I were about to have sex the other night and he was trying to insert it ( sorry if tmi ) but we'd been messing around for awhile and he wasn't as hard so he was trying to get hard. He didn't come inside of me but I have to switch birth control due to allergic reaction, I am way to young to have a child and am worried about pre-cum. I know the chances are low and he was never actually inside me but was very close to being and was trying to be, it was harder to do since i'm a virgin obviously. We decided not to do it and wait till another night but like I said I have to find new birth control here are my questions.

If I were to get a new pack in them morning of a different brand could I take them where I left off on his pack? would protection be the same? What are my chances of pregnancy... should I just finish the pack I have although it's causing problems to be on the safe side?

Also, if i finish the whole pack and stop I am safe from past sex i've had without getting pregnant, right?

if we had sex he was going to wear a condom, i'm not dumb i'm just not 100% sure he had one on at the time and i wasn't worried because i'm on bc. i can ask but i can't at the moment and i wanted to know these answers anyone PLEASE someone, I'm new to all of this and could use some information. I'm a very paranoid person. thank you.

Typically you can just start the new pack once the old one is done. The new pack can be a different brand but it can cause your body to show some symptoms of getting used to the new pack, which could be simple spotting or nausea or unknown symptoms. Ask a doctor what their opinion of the situation of switching would be as you cannot get a new brand of birth control without a prescription from a doctor.

Also, if i finish the whole pack and stop I am safe from past sex i've had without getting pregnant, right?
If you are pregnant now, which is not the case if zero semen was nearby and there was no actual insertion, than you are pregnant and no further birth control can stop any birth process. However since you will not be pregnant due to no sex than continuing protection with a new brand of birth control would keep protection at the regular 99.XX% effectiveness as different brands really do not differ in their effectiveness.

thank you very much, I doubt I'm pregnant but I was worried about stopping mid pack and the possibility of pre-cum, thought he wasn't inside me it was being attempted which means we were touching , I know it's a low chance but should I just finish the pack although it's giving me problems? or am I good to stop it. It's been three days since we were fooling around. Thank you soo much.

Do not stop mid pack unless your doctor says go ahead. Stopping mid pack will make your body switch back to thinking that there is no pill there and likely cause bleeding. But if there is an allergy involved that prevents you from successfully taking the pill without agony than I would suggest you take it up with your doctor to see if you should stop mid pack, then wait a month so your body can clear some of the pill out of your system and realign your periods, and then start up the new brand of birth control.

Also pregnancy simply cannot occur without semen reaching the fallopian tubes, that means insertion of some kind whether it be penis or finger with semen on it. Insertion of the semen must occur. No semen no pregnancy. If you are curious of other sex subjects it may be best to pick up a book or two to get a general understanding of things so you know when situations call for worry.

I just thought it was a possibility that if pre cum got on the tip of the vagina it could travel. Thank you though.

It does travel. And it dies eventually. That is why ejaculation helps because it is inside the vagina and much closer to the area the sperm need to be, and much easier for sperm to travel around in the first place. Pre cum though is still up for debate on whether or not it even contains sperm. Obviously if a guy masturbates before sex then has sex shortly after there are still going to be some sperm in his tubes that come out in the pre-cum. But if he does not masturbate beforehand then there is nothing really in the tubes to be mixed with regular pre-cum fluid. Although some people still claim there is and hence the worry about pre-cum with basically anyone who is worried of pregnancy....which is clearly a natural worry.

Well, thank you. I seem dumb i've had a lot going on though.. health wise and honestly can't even handle the worry even a slight chance, which i'm sure will prolong the time before I actually have sex. Thank you for your answers.

you should also be using a condom
the pill is not 100% effective so you might want to consider more then one form

No question is dumb in my opinion. We have all been at the point where you are right now. Some of us were young teenagers who had gossipy friends with all sorts of myths about our bodies and preganancies, and the internet and forums like this one didn't exist to help us out. We had to either ask our mothers or doctors for the truth! (Simply horrifying!) My advise, stop taking the pills that are hurting you. Wait for the "period" subsides that will come when you stop taking the pills. Start the new pack of pills on the first Sunday of your period, just like when you first starting taking bc pills. And start using condoms! Pills only protect you from getting pregnant, there are a lot more horrible things that can happen to you if you aren't protected!
