    Plan B and possible pregnancy...

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here so I am a little nervous but you all seem like a nice crowd.

I finished my cycle of birth control pills on the 8th (meaning my last pill was taken on that day). I am generally good now about taking my pill regularly but in the past I missed a lot and had some trouble with it. This cycle was pretty consistent though. I have been on the pill for about a year.

My boyfriend and I had sex on the 9th during the day. The condom did not break, but we noticed there was a small amount of semen leaking out the bottom, but the condom stayed on and did not break. Just in case, I took Plan B on the 11th.

Since my birth control cycle ended on the 8th, I was due for my period a few days after that. However I have still not gotten my period. I feel like I am about to have it... I have some bloating and lower back pain, but I am extremely nervous. My friend got pregnant from pre-ejaculation fluid recently and it has made me very paranoid about pregnancy..

I had a spot of blood on the 12th but it was not my period.

I'm not sure much about how Plan B effects your cycles. Is there a chance I could be pregnant?

I'm not sure what other details are necessary...I am 18 years old

Clearly I am very careful...3 types of BC, but a friend of mine got pregnant recently and they "pulled out" so I'm a bit paranoid. Please let me know if I should worry

The best thing you can do for yourself right now is go to the dollar store and buy a cheapo test. Look for one with two parallel lines rather than a plus, as they're easier to read (fewer "false positives.") Plan B can mess with your cycles, but you can't predict how it will. Since your period was already supposed to have come, you can go ahead and take a test to calm yourself.

Birth control + condom + Plan B = if you're pregnant, you need to name him Jesus. Seriously though, I think more than likely what you are experiencing is the after effects of Plan B. I've heard many girls talk about messed up periods, cramping, back pain, bloating, etc after taking Plan B.

If it will make you feel better, go to the Dollar Store and buy a cheapo pregnancy test and ease your mind.

In addition, be 100% sure you are taking your bc pill every single day. If you don't, there is really little point in taking it at all. If you truly, genuinely don't want to get pregnant, but want to be sexually active, set the alarm on your phone, or whatever it takes to remind you to take it. If you miss a day (which you shouldn't), take two the next day. If you miss two days, you will NOT be protected.

Relax sweetie....I do not believe you're pregnant.

Haha I know right...can't be more careful than that, but it's just killer paranoia.
But thanks for the info I appreciate it. I will take a test in a week or so and let you guys know.
