This is my very first post, so bear with me, as I am new to this game! My name is Amanda, and I'm writing this post in search of some guidance. Here's my "story":
I am currently involved in a fairly new, sexually active relationship. I have been on birth control for about six months, and my boyfriend and I have been sexually active, having fairly regular sex about 3 times a week, for about the past two months.
Now let's backtrack for a minute.
In the first couple of months of starting my birth control, before I was sexually active with my boyfriend, I had experienced some light spotting. This was to be expected, and lucky for me, it ended after only two months of being on the pill, and I have not had a spotting since.
Until now.
This is extremely worrisome for me, as I am absolutely religious about taking my birth control at the same time every day, even setting a permanent alarm on my phone to remind me just in case.
Having said this, many would probably say, "If you use a back-up method of protection, you really should have very little reason to worry."
The problem is, we don't.. :/
We do use the "pull out" method along with the birth control pills...(I know, I know! With the "pull out" method, you still run some risk of pregnancy due to accidents, and also pre-ejaculate)
I am currently an undergraduate student with hopes of becoming a premed one day, and eventually an orthopedic surgeon. I am also working two part time jobs at the moment, trying to get my finances in order. One can imagine that with such lofty goals for myself, pregnancy is NOT an option right now.
I am looking for some guidance, opinions, and maybe some answers!
So here are the facts:
1.) I have been on birth control for six months, and am currently on my seventh months pack.
2.) My boyfriend and I have been having fairly regular sex, about three times a week, for about two months now.
3.) We use the "pull out" method of contraception in addition to my birth control pills
3.) I am currently on day 19 of my 28 day pill pack, and I experienced a light spotting yesterday, and another light spotting today.
Somebody please help!
