    BCP mishap now what?

I apologize in advance if it sounds like the typical "am I pregnant post". That's not really my question.

So I was late picking up my prescription. I had sex on the Friday which would have been day 6 of my pack, knowing I wasn't protected I used Next Choice within 36 hours. I started my pills on Tuesday (the day after Next Choice- it would have been day 10 if I had started the pack on time)

Since then I have not been taking it at the same time everyday. Maybe there are a couple hours difference.

I took a pregnancy test on the 28th but I realize it may not be conclusive since it may be too early.

Called my dr.'s office for some guidance and they basically asked if I was pregnant and instructed me to finish the pack.

But I don't know if I'm pregnant and it's too early to tell. I normally spot because I'm not always taking it at the same time everyday, but this month (month 4) I haven't spotted at all.

Maybe that's me getting used to the pill but I'm starting to suspect I may be pregnant. When would I have ovulated this month considering all the variables?

My last period was on the 7th and I have been on birth control for 3 months so it's a 28 day cycle.

I'm on sprintec a 28 day. (I believe it's a generic for ortho cyclen - maybe ortho cyclen lo)

Just to clarify I would have started the pack on august 14th if on time.

Honestly sweetie it is probably too early to tell, but if you are concerned your best bet is to go to the doctor, just to be sure. I know that's not what you want to hear, but to be safe it would be your best option. Give it a week or so and if nothing see a doctor. Best of luck.

If you took the morning after pill, you should not be pregnant. It does, however, cause many women side effects like sore breasts, cramping, spotting, etc.

Technically I shouldn't be, but I would have though because my hormones are all out of whack now I would definitely be spotting. No spotting like I usually do while on the pill.

I was a bit constipated and had some soreness but this was a week later so I don't think it's necessarily related to the morning after pill as the hormones would have been depleted by now.

Does the pill actually prevent ovulation or just thickens the lining? I'm going to have to take another test, it's driving me nuts.

Started spotting on week three of birth control, looks like body is starting to get used to the BC hormones. Not as worried now. I'll update in a week or so.

Not pregnant- but lesson definitely learned. Don't miss your pills and take them on time. Thanks for everyone's comments.
