    My Expirence with YAZ

I don't know about all of you, but I have had some pretty weird things going on with me mentally and physically. I thought I would share some things I was feeling since being on yAz for about 7 or 8 months now. I hope you all can let me know if you have experienced these weird symptoms as well, or if it's just me!

First of all, I started feeling VERY ANXIOUS. I've always had a problem with anxiety, but Yaz seemed to have heightened my tensions. I began concentrating on my swallowing, and then had panic attacks one after another due to the fear that I thought I wouldn't be able to swallow, or that I would choke. (weird, i know)

Then of course I was always fatigued. I also then began to feel more and more paranoid just about ****** things that never really seemed to bother me before. I began getting claustrophobic when going to places like malls and other high populated areas. And eventually it got so bad to where I only felt comfortable at home.

The worst symptoms were during sex. I don't know about you guys, but I have completely lost interest in having sex. My husband will touch me and kiss on me to try to get me wet, and it just isn't happening. In fact, I just feel more irritated more than anything. It's very frustrating- during sex, I will suddenly be able to tell that I'm dry, or that I've closed up, and we can't even finish what we started because I am completely not even the slight bit turned on. It's really very frustrating and is really upsetting my husband. I also feel a lot of pain during sex that I never noticed before taking Yaz. I feel a sensation that his penis is going to go into my stomach or something...it hurts and it's weird! I hope this isn't just a problem with me. Should I just switch to the diaphragm? Or is there a better BC pill out there that I am unaware of. HELp!!

I completely understand your concerns. I never had any issues with sex before I started taking Yaz. I currently have no sex drive and when we try to have intercourse Im in so much pain. My vaginal walls are so tender to the touch that it's not enjoyable anymore. Not to mention its causing me to have periods for 16 days and longer. Im afraid I might become anemic if it keeps going the way it is. I've been to the doctor and they say nothing is wrong. I finally decided to stop taking it after seven months. Hopefully these symptoms were caused from the Yaz and will subside. Hope you get better!

      Yaz

I have always had anxiety as well, but it seems to be worse. I have been on yaz for a month and i feel more angry and uptight. I am constantly anxious , i started to see a therapist for my anxiety, reading book after book. I had 2 weeks that i was ok and then i got my period and it was all down hill from there. I am going to ask my doctor for something else.

Yaz is the worst birth control ever. I was on tri-sprintec before taking this and thought that by taking yaz it would clear up my acne. My acne has improved slightly but it doesn't out weigh the cons. Right now I'm in so much pain it hurts to type. I've been on Yaz since the beginning of october. I am on my third month and I'm quitting. My stomach is in constant pain, full of acid that washes up to my throat. I've had headaches(which I've never had in my life, up until now) I'm so exhausted all the time that I sit in my house and find it hard just to get up and get dressed in the morning. I've become severally depressed, suicidal with one suicide attempt, self mutilation and extreme anxiety. I've gained weight, atleast 10-20 lbs. I'm constantly dizzy. I suggest no one take this birth control, there are other options out there.

That makes me kind of worried. I'm starting my third month on Yaz. I don't seem to be having any of the problems you seem to. I mean, I can't really tell about if its affection my emotions much as I'm on an anti-depressant due to recent life changing events. But the only weird thing I've noticed is that all my life my periods never hurt and I NEVER got cramps. But the first Yaz induced period was an entire week of constant pain. I was told its normal, but this was crazy. Then the second was even stranger, I felt absolutely no pain or discomfort. And while on both of these medicines I seem to be losing weight faster than I am usually able to. I also seem to be getting more energy at times. But while many of these things seem good, I have to wonder if its safe for me to be changing so fast. With my current weight, losing 20 pounds in one month was amazing, but scary as hell. I didn't do anything but stop drinking soda as often as I did. I am worried bad effects from this medicine will start showing themselves if I keep taking it...
Life is a sequence of events shaped by placement, intent, and timing. No two lives are exactly the same, and yet...we are all the same. Affected by things we can and can't control, we must all live our lives with the hope that everything will be all right.

            Don't take this pill!!!

I went on YAZ to correct severe pre-menstrual depression and moodiness, but it ended up causing much more of a problem for me. While the YAZ helped my moodiness and depression, I lost a ton of weight and started experiencing abdominal pains, as well as other reproductive side effects mentioned in other posts (fatigue, loss of sex drive, cramping, month-long spotting, etc.).

After 4 months I couldn't take it anymore and I asked my doctor to go back on the Yasmin, which I had been on for 3 years before going on YAZ. Immediately after stopping the YAZ all of my side effects went away, except for the abdominal pains. I recently found out that I have a tumor in my liver, and every doctor and specialist I have seen believes it to be brought about by the YAZ.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. Whatever you are experiencing that makes you consider switching to it is not worth the suffering I have been through these past 6 months.

              similar

Hi, I have a similar situation except the tumor is in my breast. I'm only in my 20's and this is very strange. I'm wondering if you had any other symptoms, missed menses? And if you would be willing to discuss?
