Which option?
I have decided that the best option for me to cure my PMS and Painful period woes if to start taking some king of hormonal contraception. I have had the pill in the past (a pink packet beginning with L) but didn't suit me as made my headaches worse. I was advised to get the mirana coil fitted but they couldn't do it as my cervix is too small. The next available appointment isn't for weeks so thought I would get some ideas from you lot. I've been sterialised so don't need it for birth control. I have no idea what is out there these days. Any thoughts on what the best option would be for me? -
You could try the mini pill, it's supposed to lessen your period and make cramps go away, and the nice thing about that is there is no estrogen in it so they don't usually cause headaches. It's not as effective as combination birth control pills, but like you said you're sterile so you don't need it for that anyway. -
I'm a huge fan of Implanon. I've had mine for almost a year (good grief! I came to this forum not long before getting it put in... where does the time go??) and I haven't had a period (and no cramps, spotting, etc) since I had it put it. It is wonderful. Now, my Dr. also put me on the pill for the first month (well, she said 3 months, but I only took it for one lol) to prevent the extended bleeding that a lot of women seem to experience. You can go to the FDA website once you have some ideas and compare the clinical studies to see which seems best for you.Comment
