am i protected?
Okay so I got my period last month on a Saturday. That next Sunday (eight days later) I started taking birth control pills. I wasn't able to take them on the Sunday I was on my period but was told that as long at I took them around that time I would be protected and it was necessary because in a month I get to see my husband again so I was definitely wanting to be protected with both birth control and condoms. Im in the middle of the last week of my first pack (I've taken these before however) but have still yet to get my period and I see him in a week in a half. When we have sex would we still be protected by the birth control? Or would we not be since I started it a week later and bc my period wasn't regular? -
Usually most birth controls are effective after 10 days, but if I were you I'd look at the tiny instructions of the particular brand you're taking. Some on occassions will say after the first FULL CYCLE are you protected. SO that means when you start your NEXT pack, but any other pill I've been on (Yaz, Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo) I was protected after 10 days. -
I just was wondering if I was protected even though my period didn't start until I only had two of three placebos pills left out of the 28 day pack (I am currently taking TriNessa which is the generic of the Ortho Tri Cyclen). So would I still be protected if my period just started late in the pack?Usually most birth controls are effective after 10 days, but if I were you I'd look at the tiny instructions of the particular brand you're taking.
