someone help please
ok june 12th i started using depo. august 9th me and my ex had sex. and he jumped up real fast cause supposably the condom was thin and he didnt want it to break on me. well he said wen he put pressure on it it jus broke in his hand. well my question is. i went om september 1st to switch birth control. they took a test n said negative .do u think it was two early? its almost been a month since that happened. i been spotting since i been om depo so my last period was end of may. i been nausea n feelin tired all the time but i think its cause the birth conteol. i overwhelem myself all the time. im such a nervous person lol -
I think you're fine! You were on the depo for nearly a month, and you used a condom that did not break until after sex when your boyfriend had it in his hand. Add that to a negative test, you're good to go, girl!
Relax.. the sick feeling and fatigue could very well be your body getting used to being on BC, or stress from worrying that you're pregnant. -
The doctor should have explained to you what the timeline is for the depo before you're protected. when I first started using it, they told me I would be protected at 1 month (probably much before that, but they give it a month just to be extra super sure). If you got the shot 6/7 and had sex with a broken condom 8/9, you were still far within the time that the depo would be in effect.
And I'm pretty sure the shot's effectiveness is 99.9%, right? Really, with the depo, the condom, AND the neg preg test by your doctor, I don't know what else could possibly ease your mind!
The chances of you being pregnant are so SO small they hardly even exist.

nah, the depo works VERY well, as long as you do what you're supposed to (get the shot ON TIME, and using secondary protection if you don't). There's always a slight chance of pregnancy with any birth control method - nothing beyond abstinence is 100% effective for preventing pregnancy. However, the chance is SO slight, it hardly exists (again, when the BC is taken/administered properly).
I was on the depo for nearly 10 years, I never used a second form of BC with it, and never got pregnant. Not even a scareComment
