    Help! Can't Stop Bleeding Again!

I got birth control pills from Planned Parenthood in July and got permission to take them continuously to avoid having periods altogether (they were very heavy and umcomfortable). I started taking them in the beginning of July and for the first 17 days of September I bled a ton, including large masses of tissue clots coming out. I had to stop taking the pill for it to stop. I began taking it again immediately after, and now, I have been spotting for probably around 3 weeks (started towards the end of October). It is different from last time, because it is not heavy. I don't have to wear tampon or pads, because only a small amount gets in my underwear, but there is always brown discharge or blood on my toilet paper, and it is starting to be more and more often blood rather than brown. I desperately want this to stop but don't know how. I never take the pill more than an hour apart but generally more like within 20-30 minutes each day, and I heard it has to be 4 hours apart to make a difference. I have never missed a pill. I take my pills at night. It also can't be from skipping periods, because I am still basically having one every month due to this breakthrough bleeding but now they are seemingly endless compared to the 4 day period every 2 months I had before birth control. Plus skipping was approved by the doctors, and I know of some people who have done it for years. The only thing I can think of is that I take an acne antibiotic that I researched can affect birth control. I have stopped taking it for five days now, and the bleeding if anything has gotten worse. I can't go to the doctor about this, b/c I got the birth control from planned parenthood - I'm underaged and my parents don't (and can't) know. I am tired of this and ready for it to stop. Help?

You need to see a Dr.
You need Tests done to make sure something Seriously is not Wrong with you .

I can't go to the doctor about this, b/c I got the birth control from planned parenthood - I'm under aged and my parents don't (and can't) know.
They Can know and they should know... What if something is seriously wrong, Cysts in Ovaries or an STD or a Tubal Pregnancy ? They will Find out, because if you need to go to the Hospital in an Emergency, they will have to sign for you, being as you are a Minor .

It's time that if you feel you are Mature enough to have Sex, that you are Mature enough to accept the Responsibility and talk with your Parents. Let them know you are Sexually Active, ask them to accept it and help you be Responsible about it.

Also you need to be Honest to the Dr. that prescribed the Acne medicine, so as to insure they don't give you something that may have Severe Side effects mixed with the pill and cause more harm than good .

I understand you are and want to be a Sexual young Lady/ Woman , but in doing so you have to be " Woman " enough to be Responsible and mature enough and Honest enough to have that talk with your Parents .

They are your Parents, Guardians, Responsible for you . If they don't want you Sexually Active, Respect that. You'll be 18 soon enough. And understand that should your problem be serious, they will have to pay for it. So it's best to go to your parents, have the " Talk ' and keep them on your " Plus Side ", with Honesty and Love and Respect .

Ask yourself is the Guy or Guys you are Sexually active with, are worth losing the respect, relationship and support of your Parents ? Mixed up, missed, not taken Properly, pills with other Meds, can mess up, you could end up pregnant or worse, like Surgery or long term STDs.

Or can you wait a few years ( depending on your age ) and focus on your Education and living the young Adult life of a Teenager, without worries of Pregnancy and ending up on welfare and never having the good things in Life that you want and will want for any children you may have ?

Sweetie, It's time to grow up, not sexually, but emotionally and as a young woman . Time to be honest, time to look to the Future, Deserve and Earn and give Trust to those who Love you.
I wish you the best and hope you make the right decisions for yourself .

I'd hate to see you back here with a sad story of miss carriage, ovarian cysts. Cancer, STD or even something worse like Pregnant, thrown out of home, Boyfriend left and you living on the Streets .

Talk to your Parents, or other family member . see a Dr ..

Excuse me? Time to grow up? I believe you have horribly misunderstood... I am not sexually active nor have I ever been. I explained clearly that the birth control was for periods. This cannot possibly be from STDs or pregnancies, nor do I think it is a cyst, because this has only been occuring since I have been taking birth control. Also, I am taking my pills properly and not missing any. The only thing that I was taking with them was my acne meds, but I am not now, and from the research I've done it won't cause damage but will only reduce the effectivness (which, once again, I'm not sexually active, so I can't get pregnant). I also informed the doctors at Planned Parenthood that I was on acne medication when they prescribed me the birth control. I cannot tell my parents, because there is no 'love, respect, and relationship' there. They will shut down and immediately take me off the birth control without even thinking through whether that would be the best thing to help me or not. I also cannot inform my dermatologist of this without my mother finding out. I just wanted an opinion on if I should take a different birth control or how to take mine differently to stop the bleeding, because unless it is still from the acne pills, the birth control is the definite problem here.

Well, I am certainly in the wrong here in assuming that you are under 18 and a Minor and that you have to go to Planned parenthood for Sexual not a Gynecological issue .

Planned parenthood is a Good " Clinic " to go to if under age. It is also a Good Company/ Clinic for us Under Employed and or Low Income, no Insurance .
Planned Parenthood is Normally for Birth Control or Protection or Issues that most cannot afford by going to a DR. that is an OBGYN or GYNO.

So please Forgive my " Mothering ".
It is the same Advice quite a few of us would give you and any other Young lady, when they mention Planned Parenthood and " NOT TELLING PARENTS AND PARENTS CAN'T KNOW ..

        Now to the Problem ..
I cannot tell my parents, because there is no 'love, respect, and relationship' there. They will shut down and immediately take me off the birth control without even thinking through whether that would be the best thing to help me or not.
Your parents should be involved either way.
Whether you are Sexually Involved or not they are the ones to be responsible for your Health and Care until you are 18, Emancipated or Married .
Now if you can tell them , that you are Self Treating for Woman issues that they seem not to be aware of or you feel they would not continue the support of a Dr's advice.
I would see if you could live with other Family Members that will make sure you have the Legal Proper Care, until you yourself are of Legal age to have to do so for Yourself . Which is at 18 in the USA.

I also cannot inform my dermatologist of this without my mother finding out. I just wanted an opinion on if I should take a different birth control or how to take mine differently to stop the bleeding, because unless it is still from the acne pills, the birth control is the definite problem here.
You would have to tell your Dermatologist ALL medicines that you are Taking and also any Pharmacist that Fills that Prescription . To Protect yourself from any accidental Cross Drug effects .

They will shut down and immediately take me off the birth control without even thinking through whether that would be the best thing to help me or not.
Here is My " EXCUSE ME "

They will shut Down in what way ?
They will Take away your Birth Control from you , for What Reason ?

They are unwilling to know you are having Issues with " womanhood " and they are 100% Ignorant and are unwilling to take you to a DR. that does deal professionally with Female Problems ?

Then if all 3 are Truth , I'd go to my School Counselor, explain that you have Health issues and your Parents are not taking care of their Responsibility .
You may then possibly be Placed with a Foster Family that WILL care if you need BC for Periods . Or if you need maybe some Thyroid testing Or even some hormone Therapy from the Pills that may not be working properly with your metabolism and genetics

While Planned parenthood is a Decent place for Birth Control and planning Parenting. They are Not Specialists in Female Reproduction, Health and causes of the Gynecologist and Obstetrics Field .
It is easy for a Woman to say , I need BC, and for them to hand it out free .

So if you were offended and I think you were by your " Excuse me " and response. I will apologize for giving my advise to your post. I am sure that many here worldwide, would also think that you were Sexually Active, as wrongly as I was by the " I Can't tell my Parents and the Birth Control parts " of it .
