help!
i have been on the pill for about 2 years now and i recently had my period about two weeks ago. My period ended on a thursday and i was supposed to start my pack of pills again but forgot. the following day my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex and later on that day i took two pills one for the thursday i missed and one for friday. I have been feeling very crampy and a bit nauseus I was wondering what the chances of me being pregnant are. I am stressing a lot over this so any help would be great. thanks -
Hey,
Two weeks is a bit early to tell from what I've been told. But perhaps you should look at getting a home preg test to be sure. Or even better, go see your primary care doc. I don't know where you live but getting yourself checked by a professional to be on the safe side seems like the best thing to do. Cramping etc could be from something else. As far as I know, you're not supposed to take two pills on one day, even if you skip one. You should read the instructions that come with your pill for what to do when you forget one.
Please go see you doc and try not to stress too much. -
I'm on orthotricyclen, and if I forget a pill one day, then I take the one I missed, plus the one I'm supposed to take the next day, as you did. Which is what the prescription says, as well as what the doctor suggests. I wouldn't fret, you may just have had something bad to eat. If it persists, then I suggest a home pregnancy test. What ever the outcome is of that, is what step you need to take next, i.e. see the doctor.
Either way, stress will make you feel worse! Relax.Comment

If I understood you correctly, your period stopped on Thursday, you should have taken your first pill on Friday (but didn't) and had sex on Saturday. The overwhelming odds are you are not pregnant. My reasoning for this is if your body is with the "norm" you should ovulate on approximately the 14th day of your cycle - the first day of the cycle being the first day of your period. If my memory is correct, pregnancy can only occur if you have had sex 24 hours before or 24 hours after you ovulate. The cramping and slight nausea may just be a result of doubling up on your pills.Last edited by Fallen1; 11-30-2007, 01:41 PM.There is a method to my madness ........
