Are these symptoms due to the pill??

    Hi
So I started taking the COCP (Ovranette)about 2 weeks ago. I had a day of spotting (which is normal at the start of my period) so began the pill. My period didn't continue as usual. And I've had some odd symptoms, sore breasts, cramping, white discharge, pain in both groin regions......I'm slightly worried I'm pregnant.

My cycle is all over the place normally. I can go anywhere from 26 days to 50 days. I dont know it if the pill that's messing me up even more.......I took the morning after pill about 2 months ago and I've been told it can cause irregular periods too........I'm in grad school, only in this relationship a few months.......I dont think I could deal with a pregnancy at this point in my life.......:-/

    Any advice would be appreciated!
    Thanks...........

Its normally recomended that you start taking the pill a month in advance before you become sexually active, so your body gets used to it and it becomes fully effective. If you were not on any other pill before, and you were not using any other method of protection, then it MIGHT be pregnancy, the chance is low, but possible. I'd take a pregnancy test to be on the safe side and rule that out. If its not that, then it could be side effects of the pill too, i'd suggest going to your GP and discussing it with her, and if she believes its down to the pill and not the morning after pill she can change the type you take to another.

Was your period normal last month before starting the pill? if it was, then it may also be a sign that its from the pill and not the morning after pill (i've taken morning after pill before and it had no effect on my periods as far as i can remember)

Some people react very badly to the morning after pill and even regular daily pills. Some can't take any and some just have to hunt very hard for one that works without unacceptable side effects. It really can cause about anything for symptoms.
