Had protected sex, took Plan B. So...now what?

On Saturday (4/12), I had protected sex with my boyfriend. We only did it once and the condom (a regular Trojan with spermicide) didn't break, but I realized after the fact that the condom had been in his (hot) car for the past 3 days. He insisted that he'd kept it in a cool place in his car and that we should be okay since it stayed intact. I also consulted a pharmacist and she said the same thing, but just to placate my paranoia, I took the Plan B pill on Monday (about 50 hours after sex).

Now I'm still slightly worried due to the fact that I have incredibly irregular periods. Last fall, stress actually prevented me from getting my period for 4 months. My last one was in the middle of March, but it can be up to 6 or 7 weeks before I get another one. Let's just say that I need some rational advice regarding how to calm myself down/approach the situation without wanting to tear my hair out.

By the way, I'm nauseous and exhausted and bloated from the EC, which I suppose is some sort of punishment. Yesterday, I also had a raging headache that's since gone away. But I'll take all of the side effects over a baby any day. I'm way too young for that.

    Thanks for any input!

I would suggest just take an at home pregnancy test to relieve your worries. Personally, when I stress about and constantly worry about possibly being pregnant it delays my period. Good luck!

Plan B messes with everything. If your periods were not regular before they will be completely unpredictable now. For the next one or 2 it could happen any time with any symptoms. A pregnancy test right now won't show you anything. Usually they base the earliest testable date by your last period but if your periods are coming randomly you are not ovulating on schedule either. You are just going to have to try to chill for several weeks and then take a test if it still bothers you. A blood test by the doctor might work sooner and is more accurate but having a test done when there was no break in the condom and you took plan b within 48hrs is quite paranoid. With your irregular periods there may not even have been an egg released in the past month to fertilize. I got ovulation strips and pregnancy strips in bulk for that reason when I was off birth control.
