anyway i can get birth control without my mother knowing?

i have been with my boyfriend for almost a year. we lost our virginity to each other 8 months ago and we have sex quite a bit now. the problem is .. alot of it is unprotected. And we are both to young to have a kid. so i want to go on birth control . ive read about all the different kinds. the side effects and everything.

but now i just need to find a way to obtain the birth control .. im afraid that my mother would overreact if i just asked her to go on it. she is rather over bearing and oerreactive..

i dont know . i jsut need help.

what can i do about this?

I don't have any daughters but I was once one & I know exactly how you feel. I was so nervous about telling my mom I was sexually active that I didn't tell her for along time. And like you I was scared of pregnancy. One day out of the blue she suggested she & I go to Planned Parenthood. She said she realized I was getting older & had the same boyfriend for over a year. She made it clear she didn't want me to have sex, but was aware it could happen. I felt so much relief. When baby sister got to that point in her life, I only suggested one thing to her & that was to tell mom. She did & I can say it was the best thing we ever did. We weren't one of those girls that have kids too young. So my suggestion is to try to talk to your mom, if it doesn't work out you can always go to one of those planning centers on your own.

Hi.If you are still unable to talk to your mom about it right now,the local health department will let you get birth control at 16 without your parents permission.I don't know if it is the same way where you live, but that is the way it is here.I hope this helps.

Planned Parenthood is a WONDERFUL place to go. I used them repeatedly through high school. They are extremely respectful and will give you accurate and relevant info. Check them out!

xxxonewishxx you say your mum is already afraid of you having a baby at a young age because she had you when she was young, so maybe you should talk to her about birth control. I'm sure she'll understand as she went through the same thing at your age, she might not be happy at you having sex at 15 but I'm sure she'd rather you used birth control than nothing at all.
