    Birth Control & Infertility

My Wife has recently started a combined Contraceptive pill *Yaz* almost 4 months ago. We are recently married and want a long term Contraception. I have heard that using Contraceptive pills for long time causes Infertility and also Tumors in the Uterus, Is it true? We really want to have babies after 5 years because our studies not completed yet. So is it safe to use combined contraceptive pill for 5 years? Will she able to reproduce after 5 years? Any other side effects or precautions?
Anyone female who has experienced this please let me know that pills cause Cancer, tumors or infertility if used for long time?

Mr.King I'd definitely recommend your wife talking with your doctor. Birth control shouldn't interfere with your wife's fertility, but if that's a concern, I'd bring it up. And as far as increasing her risk for cancer, it really depends on her family history and other factors. In some instances, being on birth control can slightly increase your risk of certain cancers, whereas in other instances, it can actually lower your risk of certain cancers (ovarian cancer and uterine cancer).

Again, I'd totally recommend that she bring it up with her doctor. Every individual is different, so it's hard to say as to what will and won't work for her! I've been on birth control for six or so years, and it's been really helpful for me. The first birth control I tried gave me migraines, however, so I had to try another pill; the one I'm on now works just fine. My experience could be totally different than someone else's, though.

I hope that helps, and that you and your wife are able to find a long-term solution that works!

Hmm...This sounds almost like medical advice. These are questions only a doctor or nurse practitioner should be asked. There's no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, and risk factors vary widely from one person to the next.

in general, pills are safe. However, I fully agree with the previous poster, discussing your future plans and risks with a fertility specialist is the best option to feel safe.

Birth control pills decrease the chance of endometrial and ovarian cancer. These pills are the only way to decrease a woman's chance of ovarian cancer other than by taking out her ovaries. But the long-term usage of these pills can cause breast cancer and other cancers. The kinds of birth control methods that work best to prevent pregnancy are implants and IUDs, It helps women to prevent pregnancy safely. So I suggest always taking advice from a doctor first and taking contraceptive pills accordingly. These days, getting a prescription from a doctor is so easy. Now telehealth platforms make it easier and more convenient to get advice from doctors. I have used several platforms for my sexual health, now I am using Ongo Care.

              Hello Everyone,
Birth control and infertility are two related but distinct topics in reproductive health. Birth control, also known as contraception, refers to methods used to prevent pregnancy. There are many different types of birth control, including hormonal methods (such as the pill, patch, and injection), barrier methods (such as condoms and diaphragms), and long-acting reversible methods (such as intrauterine devices and implants). Infertility, on the other hand, refers to the inability to conceive a child after one year of regular, unprotected sex. There are many different causes of infertility, including issues with ovulation, sperm production, and structural problems in the reproductive system. Some factors that can contribute to infertility include age, certain medical conditions, and lifestyle factors such as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
