Hi. I have been using the NuvaRing for two and a half years and it has been a great form of birth control for me thus far! It's really easy to insert and the best part is that you don't have to remember to take a pill everyday. I tried ortho tri cyclen lo before starting the NuvaRing and it didn't go very well. With the NuvaRing my periods are very short, 3-5 days and extremely light. I didn't gain any weight, and I've never had severe acne problems, but my face is almost completely clear except for an occasional few. I haven't ever experienced any infections and I don't have any cramps. However, there are a few things that I have noticed... I am a lot more dry than before, I am a bit more emotional and it has fallen out during sex, but never during exercise or anything else. Oh and my husband says that he can't feel it, so that's a plus! I have heard that some guys can feel it, but that it's not painful and usually doesn't seem to bother them. Other than those few things, I think it's an amazing hormonal birth control. It's very low dose and very easy maintenance!

I hated that thing. I had abdominal cramps almost instantly, along with headaches, and yellow discharge. I could feel it all day long. He could feel it during sex and it kept cramping my cervix. We ended up taking it out for sex, which you can't do. I gave it a about 3 weeks and couldn't do it any longer.

I just started using the NuvaRing & so far I love it! I don't feel it at all & if you can insert a tampon you can definitely insert this! I've only had it in for a week & I know it usually takes a couple months to get your body used to a new form of birth control- but so far so good! The only thing I've noticed it that I'm always wet! Which is weird since I've read a lot of things saying it dried people out! My boyfriend can't feel it during sex & if it moves & he does, it doesn't seem to bother him! It's worth a try. You have to remember that hormones have different side effects in everyone! What could work for me, may not work for you & so on & so on. Hope you find one that works!!

I loved it but it made me gain weight around my lower tummy/hips area.

I called the company to ask about it and they said they had to do research then called me back and said no one had ever reported weight gain, then I found a forum with a thread that had about 150 women all talking about how they gained weight in the same area I did when they started NuvaRing.

I mean, most will do that anyway, but it's been really hard to take off and I got rid of the ring over a year ago.
