mini pill questions
Hi, everyone. I would appreciate any and all input on taking the mini pill. I was on the combination pill for years, but due to blood pressure and age was put on camila mini pill. My last period on combination pill was 7/8 - 7/11, which was the week I began the camila. I take the camila religiously at 7 am (i set my alarm to take it). Paranoid as I am, I am also using VCF spermicidal film every time we have intercourse. Well, I had spotting on August 1st in the morning. I got nervous and took a pregnancy test on August 11, negative thank goodness. Then, more spotting on August 12th and 13th. Started getting breast pain on sides. Spotting again on 25th and 26th. Can anyone tell me if this is normal on the mini pill? Some places I check it says it is, but I am so used to being on other combination pill and having a week of bleeding that I am anxious all the time about this. I have ALWAYS taken the pill every day same time and ALWAYS used VCF every time for intercourse. Please, I appreciate all answers. Thank you! -
if it's pregnancy you're worried about... it's pretty safe to say that you're not. i'm not a doctor so of course don't treat my words as those of a medical professional, but judging by your length of time using the pill, your loyalty to the schedule, and the fact that you use an effective back-up in conjunction with it pretty much points to the change in the pill as the culprit for your bleeding. lotsa people have light, spotty bleeding on the mini-pill and though it is less effective than combo pills, it's only by a few percents. if it continues after a full cycle or two, then i'd call the doctor for a suggestion or insight.
