I have really thick hair and my pubic hair is very coarse, so I've been shaving, plus, epilating for years now with little success, once I can afford it, I'll get it lasered off.

Anyways, my question is, what is the normal pubic hair pattern, because mine extends beyond labia majora unto the inside of the thighs and continues along the inside of the buttcheeks. I only had sex with one guy, so I just shaved most of it off because I was too embarrased that he would think that I'm a hairy beast.

Its also a very hard area to reach without cutting oneself. Does anyone else have issues with this?

I don't have that much hair naturally but a LOT of women do. It's quite normal but I hear ya, can get in the way if you're the type to prefer a shaved look.

When I shave I make sure to stand under hot water in the shower for a few minutes to help soften the hairs, and then I use plenty of shaving cream as well as a new and sharp razor. The cutting thing I guess just takes practice, practice, practice.

I myself have never tried an epilator, is it any good?

LucidE: body hair patterns vary widely - just a function of genitics, like so many other body traits. What you describe doesn't sound too unusual. Whether you shave or epilate or wax ..... or leave it be just depends on what you are happy with. There are some threads here that discuss what other folks prefer, but in end it all depends on what you want.

It sounds like waxing would solve your problems. It would take several goes to start with. The hair each time grows back less thick and eventually goes almost completely. Then I think you only need a wax every couple of months.

Body Hairs grow thick on some people while some just grow little...either way, it's all normal. I also agree with Thomas that you might want to try hair waxing to make the hair growth less thicker than it usually is.

I don't think you have to be embarrassed. Some guys like hairy girls. I have been with hairy girls in the past and it was a turn on.
