I know how it feels
Hi
I am also in the same situation. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16 years old and have been suffering with excessive hair growth since I first started getting my period at 14. I always had hair on my arms, since I was a kid and I always thought it was because my dad was really hairy. At 16, my period was never regular and so I was referred to an endocrinologist. The specialist immediately started me on birth control pills along with some hormonal supplements, to regulate my period. Sure my period became regular, but I put on 30lbs in about 2 years. I had a beard and my cheeks/sideburns were DISGUSTING. I had such thick and coarse hair. For my high school prom I forced myself to thread all that hair off including my 'mustache'. Yes thread, it took about an hour to remove all of it because it was so painful. A dermatologist then recommended going to get lazer done. It was so expensive but I tried it and went for about 4 sessions. It was the worst decision I made in my life. I had burns all over my cheeks and sometimes it would even bleed. I had so many people looking at me thinking I was some kind of weirdo. No one I knew was going through/went through what I was going through. My sister was slim and hairless and same goes for my mom. I felt like a disgusting looking bear. I was so disgusted, I was hairy and fat. I stopped the pill because I saw no difference but the upside was that my period became more regular. I am now seeing another endocrinologist who prescibed a different pill that also regulates my period and decreases my hairgrowth (Marvelon). I haven't seen any difference but apparently it takes at least 6 months to notice a difference. Now, I am 21 and to remove my hair I shave my face daily and it's one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I feel so disgusting but I have no choice. I am still overweight but I am trying really hard to lose weight. My doctor told me my goal's to not increase my weight but I hate how I look. I feel so big and blah. People around me keep on telling me to lose weight but they don't know what I'm going through. They don't know that I have my own problems and that I know that I am fat. Ugh. But I am glad I found this forum. I'm not alone... But to everyone who hasn't seen a doctor, go visit an endocrinologist! They might be able to help

I'm 18 and also have a problem. Body hair is a huge issue for me because all my friends don't have any and I am constantly comparing myself to other people. I definitely know it's a hormonal problem but I have not been to my doctor about it because I know they are going to prescribe hormones and I don't want to take them because I don't want to gain any weight, being already chubby. I also saw someone post about hormone imbalance making it hard to lose weight and I am definitely in that boat. I have cut down on eating so much that it's borderline unhealthy and I still cannot lose any weight. As someone who has pretty much no self confidence I find myself constantly covering myself up, not going outside, not talking to people etc. And I pretty much refuse to let anyone touch me.
As for my body hair issue I get hairs on my stomach, some are fine and you cannot see it in a mirror but the "snail trail" and around my belly button is very coarse, long and black. I also have someone long, thin hairs on my butt but I don't want to remove them in case they start growing really coarse, but I have pubic hair around my anus which I find disgusting. I pluck them as soon as I see them but it's hard when some are smaller than the others. I have coarse side burns on the left of my face and some long hairs on my cheeks. I also get a couple of dark, coarse hairs on my chin. I wax every weekend which is really annoying because it doesn't seem to make the hairs any thinner which it would for girls without this issue. My mother says it will stop soon but it has been slowly growing since I was 14 and I don't think it's going to magically disappear any time soon. Also I have a lot of issues with irregular periods especially when I screwed up my diet and literally didn't eat much except fruits, vegetables and a few carbs because I thought it would help me lose some weight. It didn't and just screwed me over.
I think I should definitely go to the doctor and try and find an option that doesn't include hormones that make you gain weight or laser hair removal because I am too poor for that and I am getting really desperate. I just want a ****ing life :/. In a perfect world I could get a tablet that magically stops this ridiculous hair problem and helps me lose weight.

I had problems with menstrual cycle, absolutely horrid acne, small cysts along my jaw and large cysts in my thighs-sometimes as big as a golfball, and the male hair growth as early as junior high. I went on birth control pills in 9th grade and it all went away except any hairs that have converted from the thin, light kind to thicker and darker will stay that way. Every time I stop hormonal birth control I have issues again. I was even having some problems during the week of inactive pills so I asked for a 3month pill with no inactive pills, just a lower dose week every 3 months. I don't feel like going off bcp long enough to let them run tests while having the horrible effects so I'm going to continue to cover up the symptoms with hormonal birth control and speculate about what might be wrong.
I have to shave my chin once or twice a day and I keep razors every where in case I forget. There's one in every glove box, the bathroom, the bedroom, and sometimes I have just the blade in my pocket. About once a week I shave my lip and part of my eye brows. I have to trim pubic hair frequently. I break out with shaving large areas, waxing, and can't use chemical hair remover. I don't shave my legs often, when I do I can only use an electric razor that does not cut as close, and the line from my belly button to my stomach only when it gets annoying. My husband will just have to keep dealing with it cause I can't get rid of the hair in those areas too frequently. If enough money comes up I'd like to do laser hair removal. I tried a home electrolysis kit with little luck.Comment

Laser hair removal is best treatment for getting rid of unwanted hairs from your body. I have taken hair removal for my facial which i used to remove by threading or plucking. It is quite reliable treatment and provides permanent removal of the hairs. The best part of it is that it caused no side effect on skin as FDA approved machines are used in most of clinics.Comment
