    D&C/Oblation

I'm having a D&C and oblation in a couple of weeks. This is to resolve a reoccurant problem with an overly thick uterine lining that results in constant bleeding unless I take progesterine - which makes me weepy, overly sensitive and just weird (some would argue I've been weird all my life). This is all accredited to stress combined with being in my early 50s. The only peri menopause 'symptom' I have is horniness and my cycle has gotten shorter the past few years.

I'm starting to drink raspberry leaf tea and dandilion tea. Any other suggestions? This is new to me, I have very few health issues. The only women I know who've had this procedure had fibriods or an incomplete miscarriage so I don't think their experiences with a D&C would necessarily mirror my situation. I curious what other women have experienced with this?

I'm 42 and about 5 years ago my periods started to get very heavy and long in duration. It got to the point where i'd have accidents and was afraid to leave the house. Many time i'd be on my way some where just to have to turn around and go home. Then during a Gyno. appointment my doctor found my uterus to be very inlarged. After an ultrasound and d&c he determined I didn't have cysts but my uterine lining was thick, i think it's called Andomyosis. I then a a few options and chose the endometrial oblation.
I must admit I made the right choice. the procedure is out patient and not painful at all (atleast for me it wasn't) My periods are very lite and shorter in length. I'm happy o had it done.
    Good luck to you!

Mine went great. I'm really glad I did it. They did find some precancerous stuff, so it may have headed that off at the pass. No more irregular bleeding, right now no periods - I'm lovin' it!
Interestingly the Dec issue of More mag had an article about how many OB/GYNs aren't up to speed on the less invasive procedures and so are still doing hysterectomies when they really shouldn't.
