Nothing helps!!
Ok about 3 months ago I started to get really itchy and so I assumed it was a yeast infection and used otc monostat. That only made it worse...after I took it I started having more problems like burning during urination and soreness while wiping and using tampons. My doctor put my on meds for UTI and that took away the burning but not the itching or soreness. Since then, he's put me on another round of UTI meds which did not help at all. I went to my doc last week but I was on my period so he said there weren't any tests he could do at that time. So, he put me on more yeast infection medicine which is not helping. Also, I've been having problems with my digestive system...constipation and sometimes diarrhea. I'm not sure if these problems are related at all. As far as I can tell, there is no sign of bumps or sores. Can anyone help??? -
Hmm, I'm not really sure, but a possibility is that the monistat gave you a chemical burn and that's why the soreness and irritation is still there. I know the chemicals they put in the OTC yeast infection treatments are really harsh, and while most women don't have a problem some of them are ultra sensitive to those chemicals...
In the meantime, Vagisil makes an anti-itch cream that works really well. It's less than 5 bucks for a tube of it, and if you're experiencing a lot of irritation it might help tons to use it while you're waiting to go back to the doc. -
Strep B link
That's one site I was able to find. I know nothing off hand about it, so don't ask. LOL I just did a general search for "strep b in adult women" because I kept getting hits for "in infants" and "during pregnancy", etc.
I'm assuming you're not pregnant, right?

I am not pregnant. After being diagnosed with GBS my doctor told me I had a bacterial infection (I am assuming BV??) and put me on metronidazole twice and both times seemed to help while I was on the medicine but then the symptoms came back. I am going to a new gyno at the end of the month so maybe she can tell me something different. I will google Group B strep in adults, thank you. Every time I tried to google it before I got stuff about infants and pregnancy so I am still not even clear on what it is LolComment

TO: XXPaula
i have been having the same exact problems for over a year now. every week i am constantly itching and i have a good deal of discharge that comes out but no odor. im constantly wet down there so at first my drs were putting me on yeast infedction meds. i was tested posative for group b strep a few months ago. i first was put on amoxocillin didnt work, then i was on k-flex, didnt work now they have me on penacillin 500 mg 3 times a day. i am still itching on the inside and outside, and i also get small like paper cuts on the outer and inner lips.(i also was tested negative for all std's) Now all this started a year ago at the same time i have had major stomach issues, constapation and diarrhea, i thought it may be irratable bowel one day im ok and the next i am in the bathroom 6 times in an hour. its horrible. i cant even get a job because of this.. ive had surgery a colonoscopy and everything done, they told me i had gastritis and now they just think it is my intestines (constapation) is what they r saying it is and making me take miralax once a day. i cant help but think that the stomache issues and the group b strep are related somehow being it started around the same time. i am miserable, it is effecting my relationship w my fiance, i barely can have sex. it hurts too much feels like im totally swollen inside. i think i feel your pain. PLEASE if ne one else has gone through this and knows a way to cure it i would be so greatful and u would be saving me life! o and i am NOT PREGNANTComment
