I'm having a hysterectomy done on August the 3 has any one had to drink stuff to clean out there bowels before surgery. The reason is that I wanted to know is that I have a very very weak stomach when I start o drink the stuff I start throwing up right away no matter what stuff I put in the drink it make matter worst. Any feed back would be great thanks The other reason is allot of the stuff they tell you to use and mix with the stuff you have to drink I can't use because I have acid reflex and it will make my acid reflex even worst. I would recommend asking a doctor or even a pharmacist. Trying to self diagnose or treat something doesn't always work so well, even with the best intentions. The doctor would have given you a grand amount of pre-surgery comments or even a package on what to do before surgery-they don't just go ahead and do surgery without prepping the patient mentally and physically.

I have acid reflux as well, but I got a prescription for prevacid (works absolute wonders)...only thing you can do without the script is to buy a bottle of pepto bismol to calm the pain. Or endure it for the hour or so.

Just to let you know that I do have acid reflex I had for 7 years now I'm taking Nexuim for my acid reflex. I've been going to a gi doctor because I was having all kind of problem with my stomach he did every test at his end and ruled out that it is not my gallbladder. I also had problem with my old gi doctor so I switch to a new gi doctor. My new gi doctor said he did not think it was my gallbladder it has to do with my period. So I went back to my OBGYN she agree to do a hysterectomy I've beeen having on going problem with my period one week before my and the week that I'm on my period I get really bad gas and bloating.I've tried several different birth control pill and medicines they all made me sck so stop taking them. Two year ago I had surgery to see if I had endometertisis my OBGYN ruled out that I did not have it she also said in one year if I was still having the same problem with my stomach and my gi doctor has ruled out that it was not my gallbladder she would then do a hysterectomy. I will be 46 years old in three weeks. Thanks Jill

The real reason pelvic pain

Dear Norawcoffey,
The real reason is I been having painful period for the last seven years at first they thought it might be my gallbladder I had every test done from a gi doctor all of my test results came back negative. The week before my periods and the week that I'm on my period I get really bad gas and bloating. I was checked for IBS and don't have it because if I did I would have it all of the time. also they thought I might lacto to all milk products that got ruled out becase I did not have it all of the time. I end up switching to a new gi doctor because I got no were with my old doctor. My new doctor looked at all of my test result from my old gi doctor he felt it has to do more with my periods. When I had my period in June the two weeks that I was on my period I was really sick and had to miss a whole week of work. I'm going to be 46 on August 8. My mom was 36 when she had a compelet hysterectomy. The only difference between me and my mom when she was on her periods she would bleed allot. I would get really bad gas and bloating and my cramps were so sever I tried several different birth control pills I got realy sick on them. and I also tried several different medicines they also did not work for me. I have a very weak stomach so no matter what stiff I mix the drink with I start trowing up right away. They say soda is the best to use but I cannoit use becase I also have acid reflex. If I were to use soda my acid reflex would get really bad. And I would not be able to take any mediciine I had to stop all medicine two weeks before my surgery. Thanks Jill
