Hi I'm 25 years old, I've had sex with only one partner. For about 3 years now, I've been having pain all around my vulva. I have spots where the skin is broken, it almost looks like scratches. It seems like it gets better, then comes back. Doctors started by saying it was herpes, turned out it wasn't. Every time I go to my gyn, he says everything looks fine, but it's not! It hurts, so much that I don't really want to have sex anymore. The Dr. gave me an ointment...but i don't want to use it my whole life, and it doesn't help that much. I also have a thick whitish - yellowish discharge every once in a while. I tried the whole free and clear detergents, cotton underwear....I don't know what else to do! Doctors don't seem to think there's a problem. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! Thanks.

Is the discharge coming from the sores or from the vaginal opening like normal? Because it is normal for your discharge to be thick whitish yellow at certain times of the month.

I agree that it does sound like herpes is they are open sores. Hmmm... it would have to be some sort of rash, skin infection, or allergic reaction otherwise. Could it be from the laundry detergent you are using?

Maybe you should get a second opinion. You shouldn't have to suffer through that with no answers. See another doctor. Let us know what you find out.

vulva pain

You could have a biopsy done. There are certain kinds of skin conditions that occur on the vulva that can be treated with meds. Even if it does turn out to be something that you have to use meds for a long time, at least you'll get relief. You wont have to put up with the pain.
