    Severe Cramping w/ No Period?

My period is 14 days late so I'm assuming that I skipped this last month. This is rare. I've only skipped a period once before in my life because my period is insanely regular (I normally get it within one day of when I expect it). I can think of no reason for why I've skipped: I haven't had sex so I'm definitely not pregnant, I'm not on the pill nor on any other form of medication, I have a normal amount of stress, my eating habits and diet have not changed, I haven't traveled anywhere recently, etc.

This morning, I woke up with some pretty intense cramps. I've heard of minor cramping during ovulation and have even experienced it but this was full-blown, to the point where it hurt to move (this amount of pain is normal for me DURING my period). I thought I was finally getting my period but I didn't. I put on a Icy Hot Patch and it eventually subsided. Nevertheless, this experience has left me a bit confused. I've never heard of anyone experiencing this much pain during ovulation (IF I am ovulating, which, if I had gotten my period last month, I should be). Can anyone maybe shed some light on this matter?

I'm not sure why you are delayed, if not for what you've pointed out, your not suffering from, but I would bet the cramps are more likely to be, the fact that your periods are trying their hardest to start ....

Heat bags are good as well I guess you can only wait out another couple of weeks and if you don't get your period then, you should go to your Doctor...

Are you on birth control? Have you changed it?

Thanks for your response. I'm not on birth control and I never was so I don't understand what's making it so difficult for my period to start.

So I guess I will wait and if nothing happens by the end of this month, I'm definitely going to the doctor.

i've been having somewhat related problems, and I've been doing a lot of research...
maybe you have polycystic ovarian syndrome?
this causes you to lose your period, and experience pelvic pain...

have you ever been to an endocrinologist?
maybe call you obgyn about polycystic ovarian syndrome...
