I'm 44 I was Celebate for 2 years after my husband died, then met wonderful man and we agreed to wait till our wedding night. I went on the pill for two months so I didn't have to worry about the honeymoon, I had my period a week after we got home, went from a Wed.-Mon. I didn't resume the pill because my hubby had a vasectomy 23 yr. ago, then I got my period again the following Sat till now Mon. Did I mess up by going on pill after all these yrs.? I haven't been on it since my 30's, or was it all that time with out sex? My PAP 2 months ago was normal. This is a regular period quite heavy so I'm exhausted and trying to unpack boxes any thoughts out there?

More than likely it's from the pill. Your body may take a bit to adjust to the changes. You started by putting additional hormones into your body, now you've taken them away.

Give your body another month and see what happens then...

Totally normal! A hormonal imbalance caused by starting and stopping birth control. It took my period several months to return to normal after I stopped the pill, but that was after being on it for about 5 years. I think you'll be good to go in a month or two.
