    Laser treatment for cervix inflammation

Hi - My gyno just told me that I have an inflammation of the cervix and that the only to get this treated is with laser treatment because it needs to heal (it is basically injured). Now, I saw this gyno in France and I have to head back to the US next week. So I am going to have to get treated in the US but I am worried that laser may not be commonly used for this. Has anyone ever had this done (not to treat cancer but just for a cervix injury)?

Thank you in advance, I am rather panicked...

Are you talking about a LEEP procedure?

If that is what you are talking about, I believe it is pretty common here. My mom had it done last year.

I checked out LEEP procedure on Google and it is an electrical procedure (like burning an area of the cervix). I am referring to a laser procedure, basically the goal is the same except that it said to be more effective. Apparently it is very common in France but I wanted to know if it is also common in the US. So that my obgyn isn't completely blindsided when I tell her about it.
