    Sudden, irregular period.

I am almost 16 years old. I started my period in July 2005. My period was always regular. I've never missed a period. In June, I didn't get it. In July, August, and September It was so light I wouldn't even count it. I didn't get it in October or November. I finally got it on Christmas Eve and it lasted a little longer then normal. I think I'm gettting it again. Two weeks after. My periods used to be a month apart? What's wrong with me? Should I go to the gynecologist?

Many young women experience irregular periods. I did, my daughter did. Have you talked to your mother to see what her experience was? I bet she had them too. A GYN will put you on a low level pill to regulate you. It is a lot easier when your cycle is predictable.

Am 19yrs old and even now I still have the occasional irregular period, I have found that if I get stressed up with something, feel pressurised or not eating as regular as I should then this can affect my "time of the month".

It is quite awful I know, but it is something we learn to understand and deal with, and hope that later in life it all settles down.

Like WC has mentioned.......We are not alone.

That is exactly what has been happening with me. I had missed two months of my period and barely started two weeks ago. Now today, it seems as if I'm starting my period. But I'm not quite sure.
