    Ovarian Cyst?

For two months now (almost non-stop) I have had a aching pain in my left
side, which seems to be coming from my ovary.
I saw my GP last month, and recieved an ultrasound apt for this week.
I have read what people have described to be cysts on their ovaries,
but have had no huge pain moments, apart from a few stabbing feelings every once and a while. Otherwise it is a constant aching feeling.
Is this the pain of a cyst? Or should I be worried about something else going on?

For those who have had cysts...Do the fluid filled-(most likely to resolve themselves) cysts give constant throbbing/ache? Or does this sound like
a cyst that is not going to resolve itself (need to be removed)?

The pain was much worse the day my period started as well. My period has been over for 2 days now, and the pain is still there. (I was told that the cysts can be resolved after period?)

I am more worried about this as time goes on, because I though it would have gone away by now.

Any help/advice on this would be great!

i have had 2 cyst & mine gave me constant pain with sharp stabbing pains. i got to where it hurt to do too much. both of them ruptured thankfully but wen they rupture it is extremely painful, i absolutely could not stand up straight. if i had to go ne where (room to room) then i was walking doubled over in pain. in the begin of both cyst, it somewhat felt good to put some pressure on it but after some time it hurt to do that. i don't know if this helps u ne but this is the only info i have for you, gl

I've had a few ovarian cysts and the fluid filled ones almost always resolve themselves. Mine varied from some of them aching, some of them sharp and stabbing and some of them a mixture of both at various times in my cycle. Mine all burst and resolved themselves and while I felt one do it (alot more painful for days) the rest have managed to do it without me noticing so even if it is a fluid filled one you may not notice it burst. Some have made me feel like I have appendicitis for weeks on end and some are dull achers so get the ultrasound done and try not to worry.

Sorry I forgot to say they normally recommend you go for a repeat ultrasound after 3-4 periods as it usually takes this long for cysts to go away. One of mine took 6 months but it still went so they don't resolve after one period, more like a few.

Thanks a lot for that. It does put my mind at ease to know that
so many have gone through this.

I guess you get an unexplained ache in your woman area and you automatically assume cancer. Well I did anyway.
I will try to relax, and get the ultrasound on wednesday, and go from there.
Nothing else to do I guess.
But I appreciate all the advice.
          Thanks
