    really bad cramps... again

I believe I made a thread on here a few months ago regarding a similar question...

anyway, I usually don't have bad cramps at all. I try to take a couple advil or whatever a few days before, and then again on the day I get my period, and if anything i just have really minor pain that I can easily ignore.

A few months ago though, out of nowhere, I had horrible cramps. I didnt change one thing about my diet or what I was doing or anything, so I don't know what caused it. I was originally taking aspirin, so I switched to acetaminophen. That worked fine after that one time.

But now, for whatever reason, I have really bad cramps again. I haven't changed anything about my diet or anything like before, and I've been taking the painkillers for a few days before today. I took two (500mg) this morning at like 11am, and it worked for maybe 2 hours, then stopped so i took 2 more at like 2pm. This is more than the recommended dosage but it's not helping at all.

What should I do now? I have aspirin but I don't know if I should take that if i've already taken that much of the acetaminophen.

Have you tried Advil LiquiGels? I take 2-3 depending on the level of pain and they generally last me 6-8 hours. Good luck!!!

      Really Bad Cramps -

That is a hormonal imbalance - you can research it online. It has to do with your estrogen/progesterone levels.

Bananas quite effective as prep before/during period

I had cramps and symptoms of my own that would range on a level of 7-8 on a pain scale of 10. My mom sent me an email listing the many benefits of bananas for all kinds of things that included PMS.

It may sound ridiculous but that is now my PMS protocol to eat bananas. In a pinch, I will take a potassium pill but those don't work as effectively.

I'd like to hear if you try it and how it works for you.

I get monstrous cramps every time my period comes around. And I use Midol because it kicks in, at least for me, a lot quicker than Tylenol or Advil, and then I take a Tylenol with that because it lasts longer than the Midol when it does kick in. And then I curl up on the couch with a heating pad, and that usually does it for me...but then again that takes about just about my whole day.

Note: Two Midol = 1 Tylenol so the mixing of the two isn't bad since the combination would be like taking two Tylenols.
