    Spotting for 2 weeks now

I recently started taking the generic for seasonique (quasense). I need to take this in order to have fewer periods (4/year) because I have ovarian cysts often. I have only been on this particular BC for 8 weeks now (finishing week 8 this Saturday, the 15th). I began spotting dark discharge at or around week 6. This would be the normal time I would have my period, however I'm irregular, therefore I'm guessing. Anyway, the spotting still continues. Every time I think it's over, I ruin another pair of underwear. I have not taken a pregnancy test yet, because I have been pregnant before and do not have any symptoms. Any thoughts on what could be going on? I know sometimes spotting can occur with a new BC, but for 2 weeks?
Your thoughts, comments and help are greatly appreciated!

Spotting is pretty common with BC like Seasonique or Seasonale. I was on it for about a year and would spot fairly frequently. I believe it even mentions it in the leaflet with the pack. It's unfortunate, you get the benefit of 4 periods a year, but have spotting.
