    Cramping / Mood Swings

    Hello everyone!

So I had a few questions for everyone about cramping, moods swings, and PMDD. I am 22 year old who gets my period frequently and they last about 6 or 7 days.

Cramping: I don't know about anyone else, but I get really bad cramps. Like to the point where I'm in the fetal position on the ground, or even in my bed, because it hurts so much. I usually feel extremely nauseous too. Do any of you get really bad cramps and what do you take? Do you recommend anything? I usually take Pamprim on Ibuprofen and even then, sometimes it doesn't really help and I go for hours with these stupid cramps.

Mood Swings: Okay so, I'm sure we all get really mood, but like...I honestly feel like a completely different person when I have my period. I become extremely irritable at anything, nauseas, bloated, I sometimes get hot flashes and my moods can change quickly. I remember once time my little brother just asked me a question, and I completely snapped at him for no reason. After that I felt horrible for yelling at him. D: There is some days I'm completely fine, then others I feel like telling everyone to f off and I need to be alone. Is this just general mood swings? What is the different between PMS mood swings and PMDD?

Thanks for whoever answers my questions!

My cramps are like that 99% of the time, and for me they feel like they get slightly worse each time. What I usually do is take 2 Midol's because they normally kick in quick and if they don't completely eliminate the pain they at least make it dull. And I take 1 Tylenol with it, so then I get the long lasting pain relief when it finally kicks in. And I lay on the couch with a heating pad. The heating pad for me makes it bearable to wait for pain relief, but more times than not I have to repeat the Midol/Tylenol for my cramps to finally get the idea. I also find that if I take the combination and use the heating pad and get myself warm enough that I fall asleep, my cramps feel A LOT better when I get up.

and I have no help for the mood swings because I don't normally get them to that extreme, I just get irritated/annoyed easily and I snap at some people or get really sad easily but then it goes away quickly.

PMDD is symptoms of PMS but about 20 times worse. It is caused by a hormonal imbalance between progesterone and estrogen. If you chart your moodiness, you will likely find a pattern arrive. You can get help by supplementing with natural progesterone. It has helped me tremendously - actually saved my life. My mood swings were getting so bad I was suicidal for a few days every month. It's difficult for people to understand if they have not experienced PMDD - so I suggest finding a good doctor that specializes in natural hormonal balance. Good luck!!

          Hi Fancy.

I have PMDD and with it comes cramps, but mine are whole upper body cramps. First I thought it was stomach pain. My whole back starts cramping too. I would prefer to give birth than this. I found by accident a medicine that helps but you need a prescription for it.
I take two Tylenol 3 and the pain goes away in an hour. I know it is really heavy stuff, and it might not help you, but in my case it does. Doctors don't like to prescribe it though due to the codeine. And I only get it because I need it like twice a month.

One thing I want to add. Consult for sure a doctor before trying to take Tylenol 3.
