    please help me

me and my partner of 4months have been having unprotected sex (i know this is so dangerous but i did it) anyway i had a very bad pain in the right side of my stomach i went to hospital and they said it was my apendix. but when they operated they realised i had and s.t.i known as cronic pelvis infection. i am now on tablets to get rid of it. i spoke to my boyfriend about this and we are both going to get checked for anything else. i am so scared i have passed this on to him, as i have been his only sexual partner. is it possible i could have got this from my last partner and only got the pains now? im only in my teens and dont want to talk to a parent or friend about it because i dont want to be judged and i feel vey lost. i just want to know do any of you have any advise for me or infermation on this s.t.i? as ther is little on the internet about it and was told little by my doctor.
    thank you

This is something you'll have to talk with your doctor about. If you don't want to be judged you had better start using conception control or you'll telling your parents about your pregnancy. Talk to the doctor about bc as well.

Chronic pelvis infection is usually caused by an STI that stuck around too long without being treated. If you've been his only partner, it's likely that you got it from a previous partner and might have passed it on to him. Only way to be sure is to get checked.
If you don't want to be a mother or catch an incurable STI, you need to get on hormonal and barrier method of "safe sex" immediately. No judgment, just do it. You obviously know that you need to, if you know that unprotected sex is "stupid."
When you stay with a partner in a long-term and monogamous relationship, it's okay to drop the barrier method (condom) but as my gyno tells me, "I can't protect you from cheating or divorce!" so you will want to protect yourself in all ways possible until you are 100% sure.
Seems like you have a good head on your shoulders, you just made a mistake. I'm sure you can do it better in the future.

Pelvic infection, if it's what I'm thinking it is, can be caused by letting any other (curable, I assume bacterial) STI sit around too long. It's like how you can have an infection in your urinary tract, which if it doesn't go away becomes a bladder infection, which untreated becomes a kidney infection ... the same sort of process.
I've never had an STI, so I've never had to discuss it with a doctor. These are the sort of questions you should call up your doc and ask, just say you forgot to ask about them at your appt. Ask for more info on YOUR situation, not just the general diagnosis. And talk about getting yourself some birth control! You can go to the store and buy yourself condoms, but you'll need your doctor's help to get the Pill.
What kind of doctor are you seeing? Have you had a pap smear or a pelvic exam yet? Even though you're still a teenager, you may be able to get birth control without telling your parents. It depends on your state's laws (please don't post your state here, just google "birth control laws [your state name here.]")

Hi Lee, don't beat yourself up we all make mistakes. Talk to a doctor about what the infection was, it's often clamydia which can go unnoticed for a long time, and also ask about your fertility issues. PID can cause problems with the fallopian tubes but doesn't always and as you aren't very old the infection hasn't been there for a very long time so you may be absolutely fine. You just need to get more information from your doctor and try not to be so hard on yourself, it's easy to get carried away and not use protection and we learn from our mistakes.
