    Menopause symptoms at 23

Hi. Im new to this forum, so I have no idea what sort of response ill get, but i thought id give it a try.

I am 23 years old and, over the past few months, I have been getting weird symptoms that coincide with my menstral cycle.

I have been getting hot flashes that last ages, and really cold at the same time and a weird feeling over my scalp, like someone i pouring water over my head. I also got tingling, crawling sensation for the whole time i had my period, and then my skin started to itch aswell.

I get anxiety problems too and have had a weird head and dizziness and funny feeling in my mouth. Sometimes Ill get a burning tongue and a bad taste in my mouth.

Its very disconcerting and annoying because I cant do anything that I usually would do. I get headaches. Mostly tension feeling and my eyes burn and feel heavy along with the hot flash.

Can anyone relate to this because I feel so alone. Even my mother, who is 55, has no idea because she hasn't had menopause yet.

My doctor laughed when i said that it seems like menopause symptoms. I never said i was menopausing, i just said i feel like im getting the symptoms. they have done tests for other things but nothing to expalin this terrible feeling!

    Its scary.

    Welcome sweet.

Hot flushes it the only thing you can relate there to meopause and your Doctor is not worth going back to, what an idiot, to laugh and not walk you through what your going through?

Do you take anything for your anxiety?

When did these symptoms start, regarding those feelings when you get your periods?

Are you on the pill and have you changed the pill recently.

I was given the pill for my hormonal symptoms, but i haven't started to take it yet.

As for the doctor, she was convinced that I was just having anxiety, which is common when anxiety is on your record. Although I had told her that these symptoms mostly happen at that time of month. I don't take anything for anxiety because I recently had a bad adverse reaction to a drug and ended up in hospital.

These symptoms have been growing more debilitating each month. I had tingles, crawling, and itching one month, then this month (now) im getting hot flushes and headaches and weakness.

Im hoping that these symptoms will calm once I start the pill next month.

      Thanx for responding

          ME.... I CAN RELATE !

hotflushes, dizzy, foggy head, pains in legs, bloating, vision problems, palpatations, shaky inside, headaches, anxiety, tiredness, to name but a few problems before my period starts. The signs are so clear to me now when I am about to start, my doctor says this isnt possible but I assure you it is for me not all the time but I am normally right with 10 hours just going on how I feel.

then after that finishes, 2 days later I get anxiety, palpatations, for a week or so bad headache which lasts 2 days, then I get pain at ovulation time, after that comes the feel sick time for a day or so, and tired then I am ok for the rest of the time until it starts again.

I used to freak out major over it but I have learnt to block it out as soon as I am over it so I can have half way decent life for that time and enjoy myself. I have had this for 15 years now and today I am alot better than I have been at some times during.

The "weird feeling over my scalp" I have put down to like nerves standing to attention, which kind of washes over your head in ripples I can feel it all over me when I've been in full panic mode and relax to let it pass over me to ease it.

Best thing to do is learn to chill. People think they relax but after learning to relax correctly it's not the same thing.
I find if I relax in certain ways and make the effort to relax correctly, these things are there but they dont stop me doing stuff. Sometimes I may get away with it starting 2 days before a period if I am lucky, ovulation time is abit harder to deal with as it's just something that will happen reguardless of what I do to ease it. but I can help the anxiety parts.

best thing I did was a self help tape which I listened to everyday to start with and now I put it on once in a while when I really need to chill it helps me so much.

There are lots of gilrs out there that have these problems and doctors dont seem to be ready to help with anything apart from antidepressants to level you off through the month. I perfer to cope without them my choice, if I get really bad I kick myself for not chilling.
