my period just will not stop .. i dont know what to do?!?
i have been off the depo shot for a long time, i am currently not on any birth control my periods use to be regular till about end of may. Now i haven't stoped maybe for a day or two but thats about it. i am currently sexually active (with one guy)). but im a little freaked out. some advice will help Thanks<3 -
Are you using some kind of protection, like condoms at least?
Sounds like you have a hormonal imbalance at the moment, can happen because of stress, changes in diet, changes in weight, or just a natural shift that happens several times throughout our lives. You may need to go on a birth control pill of some sort, temporarily, to regulate it again. -
thanks,, and yeah i was going to one then they cut off whatever type of aid i was getting it was really stupid. but they do give free condoms out so thats a plus. but yeah i am trying to find somewhere that it wont take me a month or two to get into right now but every clinic i find theres a waiting list. and anemic i never thought of that i was on iron meds when i was in high school because of that, but thanks that is prolly the problem thank you!!Comment

oh! and yeah end of may is when it started and it has only stoped for maybe a day or two. i think out of the whole three months it has been i went 3 days with no blood. but it can be in the morning i will be spotting then come lunch time or later i will be going through tampons like crazy. someone told me that i could have been pregnant? but i thought you didn't have things like this unless you are losing the baby. but i do know that you can bleed during a pregnacy i watch a lot of discovery stuff about it plus i am going into nursing school in two months.Comment

You can spot while pregnant but large amounts of blood that require several tampons a day would likely be impossible. That much blood loss seems like it would make the uterine tissue and any support to the fetus difficult and unstable. I would also think if you were losing a pregnancy that it wouldn't take that long and that much blood. The amount of blood you get on a normal period is enough to lose the layer all the way around the uterus and clean it out. It sounds like you've been through about 8 times that amount. A hormonal issue not having to do with pregnancy is much more likely. Impossible to say what exactly though over the internet. Do you have any insurance at all? When I lost insurance and was low income I got free state insurance. It covered nothing except basic meds like antibiotics and ER visits. However that meant if I had anything beyond a very minor health problem all I had to do was go to the ER clinic for tests. Granted insurance did not want to pay for most of the meds they wanted to prescribe but it wasn't overly difficult to get most of them through discount programs put out by the drug manufacturers.Comment

I highly doubt pregnancy is even a consideration, with as much bleeding as you are doing. You could always take a test though, wouldn't hurt anything atleast to have that answer. Try to cut out dairy and sugar and see if that helps.....they both produce estrogen.....and too much estrogen causes heavy bleeding. And drink lots of water and take a multivitamin. Those are things you can atleast be doing at home."Natural Hippy Mama"Comment

yeah thats what i figured, i have been without insurance for a while i was going through a program then they cut my program off. i guess from michigans stupid economy. But i do eat a ton of yogurt and i cut out pop from my diet a while back im going to cut back on some things till i can find anyone that would see me. I mean everyone that i talk to say it looks like im bleeding the weight away as funny as it sounds, but i have lost like 20 pounds since all this has been happening. but if i can not find a doc soon i am just going to go to the er cuz this is just way to much on my body i cant do anything i just lay around i am so tired constantly and people are telling me it could be because i am losing a lot of blood. thanks again you guy have been so helpful!!Comment
