odd peroid question? Anyone else experience this?
This may be sort of embarrassing, however i must ask this question. I've noticed for the past two years or so around my time of the month i've been noticing that before, during and after my peroid i will get horriable diarrhea. I am on my peroid now. I started the 6 of this month, August 2010. I get it so bad that it comes out and you can actually hear splats in the toliet. I know too nasty. I just don't understand why. What really has me wondering is I have been sick with acute phenomia. Starting to wonder. However I am not sure the diarrhea is because I have been sick or if it has something to do with my peroid???? I mentioned that this has been happening for awhile with my peroid so... this is a mystery to me. Other than that I have my normal monthy peroid and breakouts so i feel normal for a peroid. Aside from the diarrhea. Any advice??? Thanks!Life's a dance you learn as you go

I have never experienced that but have definitely heard of it happening.
Prostaglandins are chemicals which are responsible for the uterine contractions that get all the blood to go out of your body during your period. These chemicals also trigger contractions in your bowels, that's where the diarrhea comes from. Ibuprofen, an over the counter anti-inflammatory, reduce prostaglandin production,so you won't be running to the toilet so often. Maybe try it when you get your next period, or even now, and see if it helps.
