    Feeling very confused/worried

    Hello Everyone,
I am 25 years old and the proud mother of a little 11 month old girl. 2 months ago I finally began menstruating again (after the pregnancy/nursing) but 2 days prior to the flow beginning I had some terrifying symptoms (Intense cramps that radiated up my back, severe diarrhea and vomiting, uncontrollable shaking and throwing up blood.). The cycle came and went regularly(normal flow and normal duration) and then I went to my doctor (who passed my symptoms off as the flu) and she placed me on Tri-Cyclen birth control. I began taking the pills and then 2 weeks into my pack I got very ill (this time I believe it actually WAS a flu since my daughter got sick too) and then began to bleed again and it hasn't stopped since (Day 11 now) By day 8 it had become no more than spotting but now its becoming heavy again. This month has also been filled with incredible discomfort in the abdominal and pelvic regions, with heavy cramping/migraines/diarrhea and back pain (also some burning feelings in my chest/esophagus) as well as what I can only describe as my entire stomach/abdomen area feels like its constantly shifting or twisting.(I can actually HEAR it sometimes) I know this is a lot of information to digest but my doctor seems to think NOTHING of these symptoms. Am I overreacting or is there anyone out there who might be able to shed light on why these things could be happening. I am just so tired of feeling like a mess and its starting to effect my parenting skills...

    Thanks

The bleeding is likely from the birth control, just your body getting used to it. Feeling your stomach almost 'moving around' can be explained away with simple gas building up even if you are not stinking up the room lol. Flu-like symptoms can last longer than a few days so that could also be a reason why you still feel so much general discomfort. Burning is likely heartburn...I suffer greatly from this and I know how terrible it is to get through the day (try some Rolaids or Tums). Since you are having bouts of diarrhea you need to make sure you talk to your doctor about your birth control dose as you will not be absorbing the pill at the rate it was intended to. Also make sure you keep your fluids up by drinking plenty of water. Right now the migraines can also be explained by the flu due to the water loss, if you keep yourself hydrated your body can try to get back on track.

Did you have a c-section? if so this may change the seriousness of the situation (not trying to alarm you or anything but it could be important) If so, there could be complications of that, that are causing your problems. Also it could be endometriosis, as I think I read it can start at any age/ reproductive status for a woman. Good luck and hope you feel way better soon

My birth was a normal vaginal delivery, no complications. When I was 15 I went through a rough spell with my menstrual cycle that the doctor said could possibly be endometreosis but I was under the impression that the condition usually went away after pregnancy. Does anyone know anything about endometreosis?
