Possible internal thrush/ injury? please help me shed some light on this!

    Hello!

Just under two weeks ago I had particularly rough sexual intercourse, the condom came off without my noticing and I had to get the morning after pill the next day. This was the only unprotected sex I have had, so I am not too worried about my issues being STD related.
I had just finished a dose of antibiotics at the time. I was internally sore and swollen for a few days after the sex, and then my labia and clitoris-area became irritated and itchy. I presumed the morning after pill and antibiotics had given me a double dose of thrush. I treated this with canesten cream and daily salt baths. This seemed to clear up most of the issue.
Tonight I had sex again, hoping my issues had cleared up. Entry was a little painful and inside my vagina stung a little but nothing too unbearable. However afterwards the right side of my vaginal wall felt very odd, it felt swollen, almost out of place. Around 20mins after this feeling disappeared almost completely and internally I feel normal again. However this has worried me because perhaps a little irrationally, i'm terrified I have internally damaged my vagina. I also have a small lump at my very groin, at the top of my thigh - its a little sore when I put pressure on it. I am not sure if this is related to the issue. Is it possible I have internally injured myself? Or is this a case of internal thrush I need to treat with a pill? It'll be two weeks since all this started on Friday and it's beginning to cause me anxiety. Please someone put me at ease! I know I should see a gyno but i've never seen one before and id much rather wait this out if it can be avoided.

Note you joined in 2008, glad you decided to post a thread

Firstly, antibiotics definately can create thrush but with what you stated, you already had thrush

I assume it's the same partner? If so, thrush is transmitted back and forward, the yeast infection isn't notible for some reason on a guy, he may slightly be red and feel a tad itchy but doesn't go through what we do...

I would suspect firstly that if it's the same partner, he needs to use Canistan cream on himself as well and hold off again for a few days, and you need to repeat it yourself to clear it totally...

That would explain the entry being a bit painful, the cream wasn't enough or you may have not gone through the whole course, it seems you got it pretty bad...

There is a tablet that you can get, with the cream (canistan), even I have had to take it It works really well.

It honestly sounds like because you were also on antibiotics didn't clear it totally, your partner still has it, your body is just telling you it hasn't gone, as it swelled again.. Apreciate taht that then disappeared but I bet if you had sex again the same thing would occur...

The lump could be a boil... they are very sore when you put pressure on it.. perhaps ask a chemist if there is anything to put on boils that can help...

You haven't damaged yourself, you have a bad case of thrush which you think has gone but it hasn't...

Salt baths are also good, and so is natural yoghurt, .....

Thank you very much for your speedy reply! You've put me at ease a little. I'm also a little nervous because I've had a little cramping recently and I was worried that this all may even be related to a kidney infection, I appear to be becoming quite the hypochondriac! Yes, I think you are right. I am going to go to the chemist today and buy some oral thrush treatment, have you tried diflucan or only the canestan? I presume the do basically the same thing so it doesn't matter which I buy!
Also - Do you have any idea how long I should suspect a recovery to take? I was abit anxious as i'd been suffering for two weeks already, and I suspected these things usually cleared up before then. It was the same partner yes, I think i'm just going to hold off attempting intercourse for a few weeks until this all clears up for good!
      Thank you again x

The tablet is (1) day it in my opinion is the antibiotics that caused the length of time, I can recall 2 weeks for me too but the tablet was the key as well.

Cramping mmm.... When our body has to go through something, it can trigger other things as well, let me ask you, do you also bloat? Do you feel weak sometimes?

IBS is something that alot of people also have and don't realise, stress related more so and as you believe you may be becoming an hypochondriac, anxiety, stress can cause our stomach to have problems....

That's another issue Happy to answer that one as well..

I think as I stated, the antibiotics caused the lenght of time, treat him too

And you don't need to hold off for a couple weeks.. Just, take the tablet, and the cream, cream him up, make it fun lol's and try in a few days
