I've read a lot of about using yogurt to cure yeast and bacterial infections.....but, how exactly does one insert the stuff? And am I supposed to just leave it in there? Won't it sour?
-
Just eating it is the usual way to get it into your system. Find a carton of yogurt that has the words "pro-biotic" labeled on it. All this means is it has the same type of bacteria in the yogurt that you have living inside your body right now. The theory is that you increase the 'normal flora' or 'normal good bacteria' and drive out the bad bacteria causing infections. There is absolutely no guarantee it will work. But since many people love yogurt they could care less if it works or not because if it helps then it is a tasty addition to the day. There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy. -
Inserting it will put the good bacteria directly where you want it to go, but be aware it isn't the same kind of bacteria that you're trying to replace in your vagina! You can use the applicators that come with other otc creams or antibiotic gels, some women say this helps but if the yogurt has sugar in it your problem will just get worse. I tried it and didn't see any results really, its messy! have you been diagnosed with bv? you might want to look into food allergies or something like that if youre having trouble with recurring symptoms.Comment
