Trying to fall pregnant but no period

When I was 17, my partner & I agreed for me to stop taking the Pill & try have a baby. I still had regulat periods afterwards & fell pregnant 2-3 months later.

After our daughters birth, I went back on the Pill for 14 months before we agreed for me to stop taking it & try for our 2nd child.

I am now 20, healthy but slightly overweight from my first child baby weight but nothing major (approx 6kg over). I stopped the Pill late August in 2010 & had a period in September but then missed October & November periods.

In December I had some light spotting, it was a week before my period was due & a brownish colour & matched the description of implantation bleeding - but a week later I got a negative home urine pregnancy test result.

My next period is due in 6 days (18th January) - what should I do if it doesn't come? We are trying for a baby & it seems impossible at the moment.

I should also mention, without the pill my cycle was approx 32 days & on the Pill it was always 28 days. I have also had some pregnancy symptoms over the last few months. Why is it so hard this time & so simply with the first!

hi i was in the same position it took me 2 years to concieve sadly i miscarried, but when you come off the pill it can take a while for your periods to return to normal for a healthy couple it can take a year to concieve, if you've still not concieved in 6 months you should see your doctor and run some tests to make sure your ovaries are in working order also you should start taking folic acid. hope evrything works out for you good luck xx

I agree with Laura, if in 6 mths you still have not conceived, I would consult the doctor. Prior to stopping the pill for your first child how long were you on birth control? Did you possibly change your birth control that you recently stopped?
