For the last three months I have been experiencing discomfort during sex including an uncomfortable "tight" sensation which makes penetration difficult (using regular tampons as well). There has also been some irritation at the the bottom of the vaginal opening which is often a tiny tear following intercourse. I have also noticed tiny, almost invisible "cracks" on the perineum area when the skin is stretched too much, often when sitting down to use the restroom. I cannot actually see these little cuts, only notice a very fine line of pink or red blood when using a mirror or blotting with toilet paper. I have tried researching this problem but it seems like the symptoms could be a variety of different things, some of which scare me.
I am in my early twenties and have never been pregnant so I know it is not any kind of pre-menopausal/post-pregnancy problem. I did start taking birth control (Sprintec) for the first time in May of last year and don't know if that could have anything to do with it hormone-wise. I have not experienced any abnormal discharge, itching, or swelling associated with yeast infections and have had only one monogomous sexual partner with whom pre-testing and the proper protection was used.
I just feel very uncomfortable and worry about what this all could mean about my health and really want to figure it all out. Thank you, again.
