period acting bizzare. dont know what to think about it. help, please!

Hi, I'm 17 yrs old. Last month in December, I got my period normally. My period always comes the second week of the month on Monday and lasts for 5 days. By the end of December I got my period again. Lasted about 3 to 4 days. I had never had that happen to me before. Considering the fact I'm sexually active and have unprotected sex. This month I was 4 days late. When I had got my period it was barely any blood. It was like if I had nothing. That night my period went away. It kept like that for 2 in half days. In those two days I did have intercourse, non protective. After those 2 1/2 days, I started getting my period but it only lasted for a day(it was like a regular period) then today my period seems like its trying to go away. Is this normal? Could there be a possibility I am pregnant?

Hi, if you've had unprotected sex then there is always the possibility of becoming pregnant. That doesn't mean you are but maybe you should see your doctor or try a home pregnancy test if your period does not return next month.

Periods can change from one cycle to the next for a variety of reasons - that is normal.

My concern is why are you having unprotected sex? Not only are you taking a chance of becoming pregnant but you are risking your health with the possibilty of catching an STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease). You need to be prepared with your own protection (i.e., carry condoms) if your partner is not. Don't take risks with your well-being. You're the only one who can take care of you.

Be firm about not having sex without protection...then you won't have to worry as much about being pregnant either. Don't mean to sound like I'm lecturing you honey, but I have kids your age and I would tell them the exact same thing

First you REALLY shouldn't have unprotected sex. Cause at that age I'm pretty sure you aren't going to stay with that guy for the rest ofyour life. From now on you Gould have protected sex. You don't understand what it is like to be a teen mother, and I hope you aren't pregnant. I'm 19 with two babies. I'm lucky however. I finished school, married the father and we are doing great. He's in the Marines so we have a good amount of money and we have a house.. But not everybody is that lucky. Always always always use protection!!!

That light bleeding couldve been implantation bleeding. The only way to be certain is take a pregnancy test, or blood test. Don't put it off either because you will need to find out so you can start prenatal vitamins.
