Whats going on with my body??? Menstual twice in a month, two weeks apart! UGH! :(

Hello Everyone! I am new! My issue started for the first time this month...I got my period Feb 9th for about 5-6 days, then on the 23rd I got it again, and still have it small clots of blood...last week, I had very strong pelvic pain for about an hour, and my breast usually hurt right before my period starts and the pain ends as soon as i get it. But this time the pain continued even after my period ended and it was a different kind of pain/very tender, sport bra to sleep, lots of bloating and not very hungry. I have three daughters ages 18, 19, and 21, I have my tubes cut, and I am in a ten year relationship, we want to get a tubal reversal done soon for he has no children, we were waiting to get our home situated, I am just curious as to what this could be? Could it be ectopic pregnancy? Hormonal? Ovulation? Can someone please help? Has this happened to anyone???

I get mine twice in a month sometimes if I'm really stressed out. The stereotype is that women miss periods when they're anxious, but, I get them twice! Hurray! I have not had children, but I'm 33 and this has been happening for several years. It's possible that there is another issue at work if you have had children.

In regards to stress, it CAN cause a delay in ovulation, which in turn causes a delay in your period (if your luteal phase is the normal duration 12-16 days). The average womans luteal phase (time from ovulation to period) does not change from one month to the next, remains fairly consistent. However, ovulation is not near that consistent. Last month, I didn't ovulate until Day 27 of my cycle, which means I ended up having a 40 day cycle. Charting (I do this daily) is a great idea to keep in tuned with what is going on. It's very empowering. I recommend "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. Comes with some free trial software for charting. I loved it so much I ended up buying the software for permanent use.

I wouldn't fret too much over one wonky cycle. Could be lots of things. Keep an eye on things and if you're still out of wack next cycle it may be a good idea to talk with the doc.

      What is your age?

Wow...I want to trade and get fewer periods when I get stressed. It was a few years ago when someone explained the stress / 2 periods connection to me, so I apologize that I can't remember the exact mechanics. But I do know that the problem runs in my family. We tend to have more periods rather than less. (It may also be that what we are having are not really true 'periods,' but instead just blood and tissue discharge. There may not be any ovulation at all.)
