Just started having sex, now constant pain

Hello. I am 22 years old and I just recently (about 5 months ago) starting having sex. A few weeks after I started to experience symptoms of what I guess was a yeast infection. Intense burning (not really itching) and odorless clumpy white discharge. I freaked out and immediately thought the worst. Never experienced this before. Went to the doctor at planned parenthood and got my first PAP smear and when I inquired about the yeast infection she said that there was some yeast presesnt so she gave me a script for diflucan. Oh! back track a bit. I had told my mom of the syptoms firstly and she said either UTI or yeast infection so I started taking cranberry supplements and I bought a one day vag cream insert thingy. I used the insert but the topical cream made my burning WORSE. it was so bad I couldn't stand it. Then I went to the doc.

So I took the diflucan and three or however many days later i guess it was gone. Since then, I have had four yeast infections. I tried shoving yogurt and taking probiotics. finally the last time it happened I just said whatever and waited it out. it took forever. and now I am afraid it;s back again. I can tell because at the begining it feels like I hae a little grain of sand irritating me. Is this what its like?

What can stop this? I've read that two or three a year is a lot-- and this is four times in five months.

I have an appointment to see a doctor next week but this is painful and irritating. How can I fix this so it doesnt keep coming back????

Do you always use condoms for protection? Did you continue to have sex while still on treatment?

The doctor should give you all the answers you need, if not then switch doctor as something is not right with the suggested treatment.

It either keeps coming back because you have sex when it hasn't been treated, or it hasn't been treated at all and you need different medicine prescribed by your gyn.

So-- i stillhave to wait until thursday to see th doc but the yeast infection is making things difficult. I bought plain yogurt, fresh garlic. i chopped the garlic, mixed it with the yogurt (i bought reg fat kind bc the low fat and fat free have added sugar and carbs thus it may add to the problem. it also has the cultures in it). I putit in a zip lock bag, cut the tip, took the tampon out of the applicator, squirted the mix into the app then put the platic push stick thingy back in (with stome tissue blocking the hole in the stick so it pushes out intead of going thru it). then after i insterted the mixture i put liquid aloe gel on a paper towel and whipped the area made anoter 'pad' of aloe and pressed on area and put underwear over to keep it in place. hope this heeelps
