vaginal discharge
im 18 years old and since my period first began 6 years ago i have continued to have a vaginal discharge. I was a virgin up untill last year so i know if cannot be and STI. Its almost asif im wet (from excitement) 24/7. Its clear when i comes out, but drys a whitish/light yellow colour. It has a slight, unpleasent smell but only if i touch it while it is liquid, its not a fishy smell and Ive never had any itching, burning or swelling around my vagina which makes me think its not thrush. I have heard some women just realease fluids everyday and its a way of the vagina keeping itself clean and its bacterias at a minum, does this sound like an infection, or nomal discharge? it sometimes gets a little heavier a week before my period? -
It sounds very normal to me.
Here's a new way of thinking: When men have "discharge" we call it seminal fluid. We when do, we either call it discharge or cervical mucous. What sounds worse, fluid or mucous? Why is ours cervical MUCOUS or discharge and theirs is precious seminal fluid? It's a way of thinking we have done to ourselves. Instead, think of it as cervical fluid.
It is very common for a woman especially in her peak reproductive years to experience a moist sensation in the vagina, and during her most fertile points in her cycle, to experience an increase in cervical fluid. Cervical fluid is the female equivalent of seminal fluid. It was what collects the semen and allows it to travel to the egg. You may notice at certain times of the month (a couple weeks before your period) you have either a thicker stickier cervical fluid, or a very wet (leave a wet area on the panties kind of wet) cervical fluid. This is your most fertile time.
It sounds like you haven't a thing to worry about. I hope you are using condoms and staying protected. It sounds like you're pretty in tune with your body, so keep it up.
If you experience anything that gives you worry, it never hurts to get a check up.
