Bathrooms
I'm 18 years old and am going away to college in the fall. I just got back from a 3 day orientation, and I had my period. I used bathrooms on several parts of the campus, including the ones in the dorm rooms, and NONE of them have garbage cans/bind to dispose of feminine hygiene products. I actually had to move the garbage can outside of the stalls and try to use the same stall for the whole trip. I am very concerned that I will have to deal with this problem on a monthly basis, and what does every other female student do? Does anyone have any suggestions about what i should do?? -
For your dorm, you'll need to buy your own trash can. That's what I did. Other bathrooms in my experience have some sort of trash receptacles ... sometimes small boxes that hang on the wall. Other than your own bathrooms, you'll just have to cross your fingers. Good luck!
Nature gives us shapeless shapes,
Clouds and waves and flame,
But human expectation is that love remains the same,
And when it doesn’t, we point our fingers and blame.
Register|Contact Admin|Email Admin
-
Well
I know how you feel. At my college they don't allow for you to dump your "personal" trash in the bathroom trash can. So we all just wrap ours up in paper and plastic And throw them away in our rooms. Of course I go to an all girls college so it's a bit easier since we all know the drill. I suggest that you try tampons they're great and everything can be flushed down the toilet!

I noticed the same kind of problem in my dorm my freshman year. My roommate's mom had given her these little, personal sized feminine disposal bags, called scensibles. There were great! They have a fresh scent, and can be tied up and thrown away properly. I would seriously consider looking into them... they are called Scensible Source feminie hygiene bags. I am going into my senior year now and still am using these bags. Luckily another woman out there felt our pain and developed this product.Comment
