Monday is my frist RE Appt.!
I'm really nervous. I been looking up what goes on during the first RE appt. and it's everything I've had done already. The pelvic sono, blood work and pap smear. So what is next for me? I'm hoping that she will prescribe me Metformin to treat the PCOS or more Provera because it worked to bring on a period even after two years and then hopefully Clomid to ovulate. Will she be able to? I want to have a baby! I been married since 2007 and we have been trying since then and until last month we found out I had PCOS. Do I have to take Metformin before even getting on anything else to TTC? I won't have my period without Provera! IDK! All this is very new to and also very scary. I guess I'm just venting here but if anybody can give me any advice that would be great. Or just some encouraging word would be nice too. Thanks ladies!"Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."

It really depends on your Dr. It's hard to say. For me, I went in with BBT charts, days of ovulation, days of intercourse, etc. I had been trying for 2 years and took a years worth of charting in. He did an exam, some blood tests, etc. Gave me Provera and Clomid at that appt. Some Dr's want you to try for a few months, under their care, some don't. Like I said, it just really depends on your Dr. -
Well I hope that since it's been so long since I've had a period and only have had it in two years with Provera that she will continue me on it. My health is my main focus right now. Even though having a baby is a dream for me. Without Provera I know I won't have a period next month. It's just I have been waiting a baby for so long that I feel like I can't wait anymore and I'm ready for the next step."Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. yeah, it's dependent on the doctor really. She could have you start Provera straight away... add metformin... maybe even prescribe clomid the very first cycle. There are also some doctors that depending on your weight that will actually require you to lose ten percent of your body weight if you are overweight as that can help resolve ovulatory issues in some women, even in PCOS(I'm not saying that you are overweight, I have no idea, just that I've heard about experiences with RE's that do this). They might give you Metformin and tell you to come back when you've reached that ten percent goal and to do BBT charting in the meantime. She may even request that your husband have a Semen Analysis just to rule out other possible issues you may run into if he hasn't already had one done. It's fairly inexpensive next to most of the other treatments and ultrasounds. There's everything in between that... just depends how aggressive she is about treatment and might even have a little to do with how far you can go with the costs of treatments if something isn't working initially.
Good luck! I hope you have a great appointment on Monday.
