I'm 16 and I've had my period for 6 years. My period has always been irregular (I'm not complaining haha) and it usually only comes along every 2 or 3 months. When this first started happening I thought I was pregnant but that's impossible because I'm not sexually active. I did some research online about it and most of the stuff I read said that it's normal in the beginning of your period (I thought okay but It's been 6 years!) and sometimes you don't get your period due to stress. I am stressed sometimes, but not enough for it to make my period irregular. Do any of you have any idea what the cause might be? Thanks!

Period every 3 months?!
Hey everyone!

This is very normal for teens, probably due to a hormonal imbalance. I bet in a few more years it'll normalize for you. If you're worried about it you can always ask your doc for a prescription to birth control. Typically they'd give it to you for a few months to normalize your periods that way, and then take you off of it (unless you wanted to stay on it for pregnancy protection).
However I don't think there's harm in continuing the way you are now. You're saving a lot on tampons/pads.
