    Recurring Yeast Infection

Hi, I've been suffering from vaginal yeast infections for the past 2 years. I experience this in the last few days of my period. My period is usually more brownish in the last few days and it gives me a severe stinging sensation whenever I pee and sex is completely out of the question. Even after my period the burning remains until I take some vaginal pessaries such as canesten. The creams do not help at all, only the pessaries seem to cure me from the burning. I'm not even sure it's a yeast infection. Only symptom is burning. Doctors always give me pessaries whether canesten or polygynax that do cure me at the time. But then comes the next period and I have to go through this again. It seems that my period is acidic or something like that and I do not know what I can do :/ I'm 19 and do not suffer from anything else. Thanks!

Are you sexually active? Yeast infections "thrush" needs to be treated to both parties, you say sex is out of the question but at some point if you cleared it and then had sex, it will come back again if he doesn't use canesten...

Have you explained all of this to the Doctor? He/she should not be just giving you the same over the counter treatment over and over again and should have also told you about the infection does not go away unless both partners are treated, see another Doctor sweet.

No haven't had sex ever. I tried last year with my bf but it hurt too much when he tried to get in due to the burning. It was a horrible experience and we haven't tried again. I go to different gynecologists, but they all give me the same stuff and tell me that to avoid getting another yeast infection I must avoid tight clothes and wear cotton underwear which I always do.

        I feel for you

Okay so they are talking thrush only.

Do you wear g-strings? They rub back and forth and help cause this, tight jeans they are right, cotton nickers check, no stockings...

But, you can't keep getting thrush , are you on the pill? Antibotics? Antibotics cause alot of thrush, have you checked if it is a bacterial infection instead of thrush?

Are you telling them the gynos that you are doing all the right things, but it keeps coming back over and over, and you are not sexually active have they talked about BV with you there are alot of threads on that, on this Forum have a look.. I think they are doing a cop out and you can't keep going on like this.

Thanks I'll check it out. It's been very hard for me. After 2 years it feels like I'm losing hope and I'm only 19. I never wear trousers because they do make me uncomfortable and no thongs either. It's sad cuz I do miss wearing jeans. When I was 16 I never had anything at all.

This all started just before my 17th birthday. I got an infection (not yeast) and my doctor said I had a tear inside my vagina and that's common and all she needed to do was burn it. So after I treated the infection, she did this procedure. Sorry I forgot the proper terms. She said I would have some discharge and feel uncomfortable for the following 2 weeks and everything would be fine. But it didn't get better. I was very uncomfortable all the time and the doctor gave me canesten and I was like on it for a whole year. That seemed to have gone but now I'm left with burning due to my period.

So did you have cervical cancer? That is "burning it off" I have had that but that doesn't equate to what is going on.

You are not on the pill? No Antibiotics?

We have some great members that will reply I am from Aussie land they will be awake in a few hours the more you can tell them the more they can maybe provide their opinions for you

no it wasnt cervical cancer. Just looked it up, I had cervical erosion. The doctor just said that it made me more prone to infections so it would be better off to remove it. I really wish I never let her do the procedure because other doctors said there were other methods that are prefered to fix cervical erosion. This procedure thing to burn the cervical erosion made me like this and it's been almost 3 years now and I've never went back to normal like I was before.

Perhaps you should aware of the diet you are having. If you had yeast, it is better to watch out what you are consuming. Good dietary food will definitely help you to overcome your problem, and remember to always check up your condition with your doctor to have professional advice.
