Please check your facts. Cervical cancer is not caused by HPV. Cancer is Cancer, HPV is just that HPV. Having said that, untreated HPV can or may lead to cancer.
That which we forget may as well never really happened.

HPV puts you at greater risk, but not everyone with HPV will developed cancer. I read the statistics for cervical cancer are low, even with people who have HPV, but like smoking, it just raises the risks

I'm just glad that its not cancer. Please keep us posted as to how your next visit goes. Oh and if you do find a way to quit smoking, please let me know. I've been trying for years.

You could try getting pregnant. Lol. That's the only thing that's worked for me. With my first son, it took me about a week to quit. With my second son I quit cold turkey & didn't have any problems. I guess my body and mind were working for the greater goal in that situation. Now, it's all about fighting the addiction.

            Dearest Claret,
Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is a necessary factor in the development of almost all cases of cervical cancer.Treatment of high grade changes [CIN II and CIN III-(Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia)] can prevent the development of cancer.HPV DNA may be detected in virtually all cases of cervical cancer.More than 150 types of HPV are acknowledged to exist.Of these, 15 are classified as high-risk types, 3 as probable high-risk, and 12 as low-risk.Types 16 and 18 are generally acknowledged to cause about 70% of cervical cancer cases. Together with type 31, they are the prime risk factors for cervical cancer.Genital warts are caused by various strains of HPV which are usually not related to cervical cancer. However, it is possible to have multiple strains at the same time, including those that can cause cervical cancer along with those that cause warts.
