random bleeding...have never spotted before....whats up?

    Hi guys,

So as many of you know I'm on the pill and have been for about 2 years. I've never once spotted in between periods, but today I was a little crampy and then when I went to the bathroom when I wiped there was blood. There was enough to concern me. However, as I worked late last night I forgot my pill (which I take at 9 pm every night) and took it when I remembered this morning at 11 am. Would that have anything to do with this? I mean, I've missed my pill a few times in the past 2 years and I've never bled the next morning..so I don't know what to think. My period ended almost two weeks ago now, so I'm just confused. Any idea whats up?

I wouldn't think it was anything to do with missing taking the pill - there's a 12 hour window you can take it in (unless it's the mini pill when it does have to be taken at the same time every day)

I know they say you can get the occasional spotting between periods when you are on the pill.

I had this last year for about 8 weeks, one day i'd bleed, next day nothing. It was never enough to warrant the use of a tampon or pad.

I went docs and had swabs for EVERYTHING - i was normal. So she gave me a pack of the mini pill... it didnt help.
So she gave me a different kind of tablet, i can't really remember if it was some form of contraceptive or not i'm afraid. It was a 10 day course, and could stop as soon as the bleeding stopped. After 5 days it stopped and i've had no pribs since. I've been on the pill for 10 years and that was the only spotting i've ever had.

Not a bad idea to get to your GP and find out tho =)

Thanks for the advice! It only was bleeding for a small period of time..not even a few hours, and now nothing. I think I'll wait just a little longer and then see my doc if it starts again!
